They look like they were having a good time! Marcondes looked sharp in those finishing drills too.
Suprised that Fisher didn’t move up to 2, and the number 7 has been left vacantSquad numbers are out, Sargent keeping 9 has me hopeful. New arrivals:
1 Kovacevic
5 Medic
6 Darling
19 Diallo
22 Topic
27 Schlupp
30 Kvistgaarden
31 Moulden
32 Grimshaw
Interesting that Diallo chose 19 rather than 7. Might it suggest that he sees himself as a striker more than a winger? It's also possible that 7 is being reserved for a PL loanee.Surprised that Fisher didn’t move up to 2, and the number 7 has been left vacant
I thought Makama, but the club web site says he's opted for 24.It's also possible that 7 is being reserved for a PL loanee.
Both Topic and Makama should be fit they’ve been involved in pre-season for their respective clubs.Pity about McLean and Mahovo, but Manning still has a full range of players to choose from. Some have expressed concern about the limited time so far to integrate the new players, but there's no reason Manning couldn't choose a starting lineup most of whom have had that time, as he did on Saturday:
Kovacevic; Medić, Darling, Chrisene; Stacey, Wright, Núñez, Diallo; Crnac, Forson, Sargent
If Diallo isn't ready for a start, he could play Chrisene at WB and Córdoba on the left of the back 3. Crnac, Forson and Sargent worked well together up front and all were involved in the goals. The subs could be chosen from those on the bench Saturday:
Grimshaw, Gibbs, Jurásek, McConville, Schlupp, Schwartau, Kvistgaarden, Córdoba, Fisher
That's pretty impressive and there's still McLean and Mahovo to return and Topić and Makama to join in when fit.
That helps, but there's still the integration into Manning's 'club culture' and tactical choices. There's going to be a lot of competition for places on Saturday, which is good and will help achieve his hard work ethic. Both Topic and Makama should be fit they’ve been involved in pre-season for their respective clubs.
), Oxford, StokeWorth a thread in itself?Season predictions:
Norwich finish 12th. Despite not threatening to achieve automatic promotion, or reach the play-offs, Manning keeps his job, because reasons.....
Ipswich: 8th, contrary to their fans belief of HMS pee-the-league, they won't. Though they'll likely beat us at Protman Road.
Promoted: Leicester, So'ton. WBA via play-offs
Reguated: Owls (), Oxford, Stoke
Can laugh at how far out these were in 9 months time![]()
