I simply don’t watch conference league so haven’t seen him. He is rated at Chelsea and Barcelona were furious he was pinched so that’s a bit of an endorsement in itself I’d say.
Yes the club should be the judge not us fans.... I know it's all opinions and many have written these lads off already. Anyway I'll finish there as it's disrupting the transfer squad...I just couldn't sit here reading how poor these lads are and not put my twopence worth in.
I seem to remember that the same happened to Gary Bennett. As we know, a terrific servant to the club and was captain for a while. Then he was stripped of it and it was given to Kevin Ball. It didn’t stop Bennett from playing for us.
Not worried about our striking options, not expecting us to have much of the ball in games this season and that’s what Mayenda and Isidor thrive off
Can't believe the negativity around some of our players on here . Or how suddenly they don't have the talent. Sure, some players might take a while to adapt to the premier League , some might hit the ground running some might not make it at all. This goes for both new and old. However some are being written off completely without been given a chance.
if isador leaves for Saudi that leaves us with only 2 19 year olds as our main strikers. Would need to sign a main striker for sure
But it’s just as bizarre that people think players who looked bang average in the championship can step up to be better in the PL. I’m not sure how playing against £50m players can possibly be easier than playing against freebies from the lower leagues. The result was all that mattered in the end but our midfield 3 couldn’t get near Coventry over two legs, we went through via some very fortunate goals if we’re honest. Why do people think that midfield could now go up against the likes of say Palace and Brightons, not to mention the better teams in the league? This idea that you get more time on the ball in the premier league is absolute bollocks. Go and tell the 3 teams who’ve just been relegated that, all of whom were probably better than us when they went up. Certainly two of them were. The coaches will have a good idea on who is good enough, what/who we need to improve etc and thats all that matters. Our opinions mean nout. If players aren’t deemed good enough by RLB/coaching staff then that’s a decision they have to stand by, if said player leaves and goes on to do better things then I’m sure they go with the wishes of the fans for what they done last season here.
I’m not sure that’s the case mate. He was really poor in the 2nd leg of the semi final and even worse at Wembley.
I think we are talking about Mayenda and Isidor here not the midfield. Also to your last point us signing Guiu and not a striker who cost us millions gives me confidence we want Mayenda and Isidor involved too so I reckon they can step up
Not to be too negative because I genuinely don’t care whether he starts or goes, I don’t think it’s a big deal but he only scored as many goals as Callum Robinson for Cardiff last season.. who had about less 10 less appearances lol
I loved Neil, Jobe and Rigg as a three in the middle and while they were absolutely full of industry it never really felt like they possessed those cutting though balls that Isidor would have thrived on. He often looked like he needed to score wonder goals because he didn't get as many straight forwards chances as you might hope for. Le Fee and Xhaka playing centrally along with better service from the wings will hopefully remedy that. Not sure what Diarra and Noah are like for passing.
do not think RLB had much of a choice last season, which is why we played the same players over and over. When you looked at the bench it was full of the under 21s side
Was referring more to his captaincy mate. All the celebrations in the dressing room after the semi final. Everyone going mental. All was brilliant. Dan walks in calm as anything and gives his little speech about not being done and his feelings toward the squad. That is elite mentality to me, being able to stay calm in any situation. Even when struggling in the final he knew he couldnt go on and needed to be subbed. Afterwards he had self awareness to point out how his own performance wasnt great and cramp had got the better of him. I agree in terms of football his performance at Wembley wasnt great. But his overall contribution stands for me. He led the team really well last season imo. I know many disagree, and that is fine, probably me that is wrong. I have fully owned up loads of time to being his chief cheerleader and I am probably unable to stop. Last thing - you all better get ear plugs if Rigg isnt playing this season
I get that, I was just generalising because we’ve already had this discussion around Neil anarl. Nobody knows how good they might be but if they aren’t standing out at the level below the likelihood is they probably aren’t going to step up. And we can’t risk giving them the first 10 games of the season as some sort of thank you for getting us promoted, there’s no loyalty in football. I’ll say more often than not because there’s always some smart arse who loves to say “what about Jamie vardy” but decent players are picked up when they’re young, they generally stand out at the lower level they’re playing at. It’s an unfortunate consequence of our rapid progression, Isidor and Mayenda could’ve both probably have done with another season in the championship to show what they could really do but Isidor doesn’t have time on his side whereas Mayenda does, he’s 25 this month. In my opinion if he was as good as some make out he should be scoring more than 12 goals across a full season in the championship, baring in mind he had barely any assists to compliment that.
