As usual your ignorance precedes you. No one's denied that there was football before 1992, the argument was about not scoring as much now wingers cut in than they did 30 years ago.

But you and two wrights can reminisce about the good old days all you like. Just don't quote 1957 in an argument about the last 30 years eh?

It was about more goals being scored when winger cut in. Which is funny as more were scored when wingers were doing that silly knocking the ball across thing. It wouldn’t work now as there aren’t the type of centre forwards there were then and teams are better defensively.

Orange and Cityzen arguing like an old married couple with both wanting the last word. <laugh>

Read the OP. And I agree that's why it doesn't work now.

A massdebate it seems
Could be, then one will claim they want no more of the conversation and won't mention it again. They'll follow this up by mentioning it again and again and again and again, what a ****er. :emoticon-0138-think

Oh the irony behind this 'last word' is monumental

<laugh>

He just doesn’t look fazed at all does he?

Receive the ball facing his own goal, play it one touch across to break pressure. No problem.

Make a recovery tackle like the attacker isn’t even there and come away with the ball. No problem.

Drive the ball forward skinning an experienced defender and winning a foul. No problem.

Sky is the limit for this lad.

You can tell he's had a couple of seasons around the first team in Ireland too though.

I know they didn't make the grade here but Wood and Jarvis improved tenfold in Ireland. They probably went over there a little too late, it's probably a better move as a first step when players are teenagers.

I recall Bob Wilson saying the solution to the reduction of the number of goals scored in games, was to 'make the goal bigger'. It was so mad it was brilliant...Like a movie you see and it was terrible, but at the same time it became a classic.

Agreed, McCarthy just looks technically at a different class. Doesn’t seem to have a weakness other than he looks like he might lack a bit of pace

Did it? **** me. Wonder what I watched in the 80s then.

But it's still irrelevant to a discussion about tactical changes in football since the 90s

Which you seem to be missing.

My neck = your arse.

If you were watching City in the 1980s you saw some pretty dire stuff for most of the decade

Something Brady not having a woman in his life will be an expert in. Another thing Brady and Vern have in common.

And the next decade too.

It's why I don't get too nostalgic cos even through rose tinted specs it was mostly ****ing turgid.

All those by-line crosses either hitting the first man or missing everyone and rolling out for a opposition throw. Back 5 hoofing it aimlessly etc..

No way the football we've seen recently was any worse than that.
