He was so-so,nothing special when I've watched him and as I said earlier he was frustrating to watch most of the time,Rangers fans took to him for 1 season out of the 3 that he was there and eventually couldn't wait to see the back of him...
I think we'd be making a huge mistake paying him anywhere near £30k a week and I'm seriously struggling to see what the clamour is about....Makes no sense to me at all.
P.S ,spoke to a couple of mates this afternoon who go to every Rangers game and they say the same as me...
If he comes,he comes and I'll cheer him on but I can't believe we've got this amount of money to burn on a pretty average larker.

If he came to the UK on 20k, yeah it's a hit in wages but he'd still be on 500k after tax....sometimes there's more to it than money, happiness and familiarity are worth a lot, esp when you're already v comfortable

He’s incredibly average. He’s not terrible but I don’t understand the clamour some City fans have over certain players linked to us. I’m convinced a lot of City fans who think Shelvey and Lundstram would be great signings are basing it on their name and the leagues they played in 5-10 years ago instead of their actual ability.
If we do get Shelvey he’ll be the best passer of a ball in our team by an absolute mile. He’s something that we haven’t currently got in our squad.
We should sign Glenn Hoddle

Shelvey’s lazy and fat. I don’t care how good he is at pinging a long ball.
We ain’t gonna sign a midfielder who can pass like Hoddle & Pirlo and then that same player can run like (insert world beater here) and shoot like (insert other world beater here). They’re top league players. We’re a Bottom end championship team with no money to spend

Anyone can pass a ball if they've got time to do so...Different matter in this division when someone's quite prepared to put you 4 ft up in the air and take a yellow to let you know you're in a game.
Don't disagree with that at all but we would absolutely benefit from having someone in the team with similar attributes to Shelvey. Seri was good at it, Alzate was about as close to it as we got last season but he’s already gone so I’m not sure we currently have anyone who could play that role.
We're more in need of Eileen Drewery.
I’d rather someone like Simons or Slater in midfield than Shelvey in the Championship. Working hard and keeping in good physical condition is the bare minimum for an athlete at this level and Shelvey can’t even manage that.
the ball moves faster than the man…if he can be conductor in the middle & spread the passes forward…then why not???
