I don't think this would happen, nor do I want it to. Danns will go on loan to another championship team tbh which is his level right now
I'll respect your opinion, but don't really understand how you could have seen that at this stage of his career.
Liverpool held onto him till then end of January in case they needed him, id suggest that alone suggest they value him better than the championship
I think you are drawing a conclusion where there isn't one to be made, he was injured in the summer so didn't go out on loan. Then he only made the bench twice and they gave him a match in a dead rubber game to bring loan interest at the end of the month. I think he's promising but definitely not premier league quality, in fact I was a little dissapointed when he was our only striker acquisition in the window but it turned out alright with the 2 we had.
There's some rumours starting to round that the mags won't be signing Trafford. Low ball bids that have been dismissed out of hand by Burnley, who've told them to be realistic or clear off, so the mags are stating to look at other options. If it's true it's funny on two levels, one because it's the mags. And two, stupid low ball deals being put in are exactly what Burnley were doing two seasons ago when they tried to sign Clarke. The irony of them doing that then but knocking the mags back for doing it now is funny, at least to me.
I'd take Danns on a permanent. Not sure on a loan though, feel like them slots need to be saved for players we can't afford right now.
Ah when Slot said they might need him for depth because of injuries? Sure I won't dispute that as Liverpool maintain a pretty small squad, but I wouldn't draw the conclusion that hes premier league standard from the manager considering keeping him there as opposed to being loaned. I more meant what have you actually seen watching him play football that makes you think hes premier league standard.
Unfortunately I dont watch every game of football, but from talking to a mate who is Liverpool daft, he rates him, his manager rates him and hes looked decent in the few games ive seen him in. I wish I had enough knowledge to post on this thread with any confidence......
If we go for 4 strikers I’d be happy for Danns to be one of them. I rate him. He needs to be available and fit of course and ideally our player. If we have 3 i’m less keen. We need someone who can drag the other two upwards with quality and experience and I don’t think he’s that yet
Not trying to come across as a prick mind, but yeah I just thought when you said you'd "seen enough of him" to judge that you might have. I did think he looked decent in the game against accrington stanley but didn't scream to me premier league standard based off that. Shouldn't matter as we are clearly targeting a higher level of striker, exciting times.
Yeah I would much prefer him to come in as a project, would be 4th choice of the 4 but with a lot of promise
