Think he'll be a real handful for defences playing off the shoulder with his pace into the channels. My main criticism of him is he tends to go to ground far too easily.....I want him to be more robust and to stay on his feet. These PL defenders will very quickly work out to lean on him and run him out of the game.
Nah. Think we will be more high press and quick transitions. Neil likes time on the ball. Will be interesting
Yeah, he's identified a common issue if anything which shows that he's looking inwardly at himself to find ways to improve. It's a positive trait.
Yeah strange one because his goal against leeds he showed great body strength to hold off the defender
it's why I think Arokodare would be a good signing, he looks like a right handful for defenders due to his height and strength
Almost all of his goals come from crosses or set pieces, almost all from in and around the six yard box. Quite different to the runners we currently have.
The personality and off the field benefits of those two is chalk and cheese mind. It's not a like for like comparison.
In all seriousness thanks for this timely reminder of two things. Both of which conflict with eachother slightly: 1) That Dan Neil is a quality player 2) That highlight videos can be deceiving. Yes, that conflicts, so bare with me. But Dan Neil is on his day brilliant and with consistency, which should well come in time, could be a top premier league midfielder. But these highlight videos (obviously) don't show him drifting out of games and being bypassed etc. And the same will be true of the players we're signing and their highlights videos.
There are some good players there, just need to look at what clubs in Europe are recruiting from it, can offer value as well. For Surridge though the question is more about if he has significantly improved since his Forest days and if he could step up, I think they're valid questions worth interrogating. I see my role on this forum as feeding people medicine, they don't want it, but they're going to get it anyway.
