This is where our politics becomes the dividing line, I wholeheartedly disagree but that's life.

I think Henderson would be a good signing for the squad for all the reasons listed a bunch of times, but perhaps the biggest impact he would make is the subtle and unsaid political one. Sunderland and Hendo, a match made in heaven?

Sure but the principle is irrelevant to me - it's the actual player that matters.

That's fair, but it's important to me, it reinforces that the club is mindful of it's financial health, so long story short, I don't view a free agent link or signing as boring or lacking ambition, just another tool in the tool belt.
