Having a memory like mine makes it's easy to appear foolish, but I seem to recall that he is our leading Prem Lge player, in terms of attendances.
John O’Shea has the most PL appearances for the lads with 189. Bardsley has the third most with 174

Is Hayden Hackney a much better player than Jobe? According to a Boro supporting lad I work with, he is.
Same as our fans I guess, where there will be a wide range of opinions on players. The Boro fan you spoke with seems on the extreme side!

Hackney is a really good footballer but his out of possession work is levels below Jobe. Drops his value a lot.

I’ll always remember his 2 free kicks at home to Rotherham in ‘05. It was freezing that night!

Who is yours?

I never saw Hurley play or watson or shaun elliott, I only remember from Ord, Craddock timescale onward

Might stick Thome in there, not sure about ballard as top 5 quite yet.
I might include Watson and Bould in there somewhere, but any top 5 list that doesn't include Charlie Hurley or Colin Todd doesn't hold much of my attention.

I could understand it as Collins wasn't even born during Charlie Hurley's career, but then he included Watson who he also wouldn't have seen play for Sunderland. To fully appreciate Hurley, you will have to have watched him in person in the late 50's to late 60's.
