That Roker report podcast is gonna do no favours for Talbi like. People need to remember it’s one man’s opinion though, he’s also played in much higher competitive games than the wingers we have right now and even has a MOTM in the CL. Of course he’s likely raw, but that’s what we do best, sign big talents and mould them into quality players
I’m not buying the bit in the story about the keeper coach tbh, Cutler will not have a say on which keeper we buy.
I think he will actually. Not a strong say but I reckon he’d be asked to contribute and help assess options. I don’t believe however he will join and say “sign Johnstone” and Ghisolfi and Speakman will just do it on a whim
Na Sa is the first choice mate. Johnstone only played a handful of games for them. Sa is a very good keeper.
I can see that scenario except I do think the loan story makes more sense than buying him in that case. Wouldn't surprise me if the club's plan is to sign a top no.1 (Petro), sell Patto, and use loans for backup GK the next 2 years whilst Matty Young is out on loan developing (L1 next year, Championship year after). Then year 3 Young becomes our backup with the potential to take over as no.1 the following year. Something like that anyway, ha
Tbf if u look at Duncan Watmore who had a ACL twice with us then left and not really been injured since
Why not? It's a perfectly reasonable move. He's a decent keeper. We can't blast the bank on every player and it's childish to think so.
Okay mate. I'm not on the board 24/7 so don't really see all the links by Nixon tbf. it'll explain why he's said it though.
A second keeper has to be good enough to be a first keeper. He is not an ornament. Johnstone is a decent keeper, whether or not he sounds " exciting".

Great post totally agree. Our young lads are a year older and all have improved and we haven't levelled out yet , as fans we are all biased just look at how Coventry and Sheffield fans couldn't see anything but a win for themselves.I think the improvements behind the team are a sign we can surprise a few people next season.
