As I've said before, I love the idea of Mika but hes not the profile of striker I expected. I thought given our deficiencies in the air, we'd want someone big to hold it up and score headers and defend corners. I wouldn't rule out another striker with that being the case. I heard a rumour a lad named Lucca who'd have given us this, but think we've been put off by asking price.
Tbf the strikers we’ve been linked with so far all fit a similar mould to Mika. Abline, Vanat, Suarez, not the tallest or aerially dominant
Too much fannying about at times with Arteta style so I'll reserve judgement that Gorkeres is the man they are after or Sesko. time will tell.
Worth a go. Will win most high balls I would have thought and decent from the bench if ya losing and want to hit a target man
They want 40/50 million for Lucca I’d rather Petrovic gets done then mika there’s plenty good striker options but petro is a huge upgrade
If Arsenal got Isak I think the title could be theres but Gorkeres is bloody good when I have seen him.
I said in my original post, he is a good player. I just don't see him fitting into Arsenals style of play.
Agreed. TBH I'm not even convinced we need a new striker, I really believe Mayenda will step up. He may not be properly "PL quality" right now but I fully believe he will be by the end of the season if given the opportunity, look at his progression last year, it was insane how much he improved with a few games. Bit concerned that bringing in a new "star striker" might limit Eli's minutes and stunt his growth a little. But on the other hand, I understand it's probably good to not put full pressure on him to be the main man from day 1...
Our DNA in transfer dealings this window and in recent times is that we move quick and we move decisively and are very much under the radar. I have a feeling that we are not presently actively involved in any of these cases that are being played out in public - that's not to say that we didn't try and get involved at some point early on but I think that if somebody wants to mess about looking for extra coin then they are not the fit that we are looking for. Who was the last player we bagged after a long will they won't they scenario?
A nice problem after having 0 strikers in the past. Obvious statement, but we must score a decent amount of goals to have a good season. Diarra should chip in, Mundle too. Need a goalscoring RW and another option up front to add to that.
Mikautadze was first revealed in the press on Monday, and Petrovic on Wednesday. It's Friday morning. Neither of these qualify as a "long will they won't they scenario" just yet
