Where's that come from MO? has anyone actually read a statement from the Club or the FL to say this is happening? Because I haven't seen owt.
It's the HDM and telegraph articles and what Mike White is putting on his feeds. But it's not only the Barry fee.
Thank ya mate. After all the decades of following City i'm not surprised summats happened, it just wouldn't be City would it?
I know,I went, and sometimes wish I hadn't bothered but yes, quite remarkable. It'll be interesting to see how many come through the gate if we've been lied to and we're in financial sh!t...I'd imagine it would plummet.
Slightly different detail from different sources. They seem to have been put under a provisional embargo on Monday afternoon but then appealed and submitted documentation. It would appear at least some of the Barry fee was paid late, but that was not enough to allay concerns so we've ended up being placed under a 3 window embargo. The suggestion seems to be that it could possibly be reduced or lifted based on certain criteria being met, but it's not necessarily limited to the Barry fee being paid as there are wider concerns over our ability to fund future seasons and pay other outstanding dues. Seems it's not only Villa we've dicked around paying.
Apparently this has been engineered, an excuse not to spend and Early attendances will probably still be very similar. If the football on the pitch is ****e they will drop a bit. Don’t think they’ll plummet until next season if it’s looking really bad.
Maybe EFL interventions might improve the outlook? It's the hope that kills ya. But I was worried about a ground zero rebuild had we got relegated. Not without basis.
Fans deserted this club in their thousands when previous regimes hit the financial buffers. We appeared at the High Court on three occasions to face winding up orders and each time our fanbase was down to the 3,000 hardcore, of which I was one. So let's not kid ourselves that our current fanbase will remain loyal, especially so if there is any hint of wrong doing. The most worrying thing for me is the line about local suppliers not being paid. That is local people, local companies and local jobs. If we cannot afford to buy a centre forward because we are skint, then fair enough, fans can accept that but as a club we should not be dodging paying for stuff and services we have received from local companies.
