Got a lot of weapons as they say, big, strong, crashing serve. He had a mare against Sinner physically but he did show how much resilience he has to battle on in the circumstances.
Great win for Jack Draper at Indian Wells in California. Beat Rune comfortably in the final and Alcaraz in the semis, top British talent.
If you're a fan I think we'll see a lot more along these lines in the future, always good to enjoy supporting a winner away from football.
I’m heading to Wimbledon No1 court on Friday, got tickets in the lottery, my husband and I don’t have seats together (close)but next to football, tennis is my favourite sport. Hopefully some good stars and matches. Looking forward to it.
Have a great time - and it should be a lot cooler than NC. Interesting coincidence I just came across - today Briton Arthur Fery (wild card) beat Alexei Popyrin (seeded 20) - Fery's father, who is French) is the president of Lorient. Fery's got the RLB and EFL gene. Maybe you'll get to see him make a run.
Cilic is a seriously good player, 36 or not. On his day a right handful But it might calm down some of the media hype around Draper. He's a bloody good player, and getting better. A bit dependent on his lefty serve IMO, but lefties often are, though of course he is actually right handed! Needs more fitness to get more consistency, but it should come. Think he'll suit hard courts better mesell. Don't think the constant comparisons with Murrey help him, but that's the deal these days. Murray made 11slam finals and won three of them, in an era that had Nadal, Federer and Jokovitch pitted against him. If big Jack manages half of that it will be a career fulfilled .
