Heard his name twice in last few days, first time it just went over my head second time I heard it I had to look him up. A very specific kind of goalkeeper apparently and is on the clubs radar.

Interesting would mean Patto is away then especially if we bring in Petrovic

No idea what the thinking is behind it but the club just seem to be ahead of the curve on all fronts these days, probably have moving lists of players, of all kinds and all scenarios that enable them to move faster than most other teams.

This Schulte keeper is apparently a penalty saving specialist and very good on the deck, perhaps the club see something in him that other clubs in Europe haven't yet. I'm all for it, I trust the process at this point.

Yeah I was saying back in march that there was some of the most extensive shortlists I've heard of, literally every eventuality planned out in great detail in the even of promotion or not there was plans in place for every player leaving in either league and what we wanted to sign. I'm actually more excited for pre season than the first game, just wanna see a few ways which we set up and see the new lads in action.

Transfermarkt has him at €3.5m but I think they're more likely to be looking for £10-15m, he's a good keeper people are just less aware of him and he plays in a bang average league.

One footballer they make well in the States is a goalkeeper. According to one American player whose name I can't remember, the reason for this is that is quite a " glamour" position there and a lot of kids aspire to be goalies, much more than elsewhere. And , pro- rata, they do seem to turn out a lot of good ones.

If you want to play with the big boys you need the squad to do so, by that I'm talking about depth, that's what the powers that be want. I was told we aren't f**kin about before we signed the first player after Enzo. Players will naturally leave, however, just because we are looking to as players in positions such as left back for example, doesn't mean one is automatically out the door, we keep hearing "project", and "not making up the numbers" in the Premier league, in oder to do that you need squad depth, quality squad depth. Players that slot straight in the Premier league team if a "regular" player is injured without a gulf in class in that position, said "slot player" is automatically the cup team starter etc. Seen a canny video from a reporter saying Sunderland are tapping into a leauge not many others tap into in order to compete with the physicality of the Premier league and that's the French leauge. Bloke said he couldn't understand why not many other teams don't do it but "Sunderland have done their homework. HWTFLads.

Good shout, I can think of a few Prem classics:

Brad Friedel, Kasey Keller, Tim Howard and Brad Guzan, probably a couple more I'm forgetting.
