Steatoda Grossa apparently also known as a false widow spider. - not quite a Big Boy but big enough The false widow spider is widely considered the most venomous spider in the UK. While its bite can be painful and cause symptoms like swelling, numbness, and nausea, it is not deadly.
No Blue Tits for me again this year. This is the second on the trot after years of regular occupation.
sounds like a yellowhammer (scribbly jacks as some called them) best seen when you are out over fields, they take off and fly vertically up singing their song...sadly hear very few now.
nope, you are correct.. ffs how did i get that wrong think that stroke has affected my memory/thinking.
This gets a lot more complicated, when I was a youngan I had a cracking egg collection and the egg I had down as a Sky lark was definitely a Yellow hammer. Look at the two eggs and you will see why it’s called a scribbly Jack. The skylark egg looks nothing like scribbles
Just seen a couple in my garden. Quite a few each year come to visit. I lie buckets on their sides in shady areas and leave a layer of water in for them when it is like this.
