I know nothing about him. We have a pretty atrocious record at signing strikers though so I won't hold my breath that he's going to be our new SRL. I guess I'll just blindly hope for the best and be happy that we are at least buying a striker.
To look at, he kind of reminds me of Mara - hopefully once he starts playing that will not be the case.
Only stuff I know about him is what I’ve read since he was initially linked. Interesting to see how he fits in if we keep Archer, Stewart, Armstrong and Diaz as on paper that looks a very potent forward line for the Championship before adding anyone else into the mix. Would suggest someone is off.

I've seen so many "Mara 2.0" comments on Twitter. That's frankly lazy and stereotypical. There's a reason why Spors has chased this guy for weeks - he's clearly talented. Just because Mara didn't settle here doesn't mean Downs won't.
Know nothing about him apart from what I've since we were first linked. But I think that will be the case for pretty much all of our signings this season. We may get 1 or 2 from England, but the majority will be from abroad and most of us will only know the top 5/10% players in the European leagues.
Don’t really know what fans expect. We aren’t signing any household names, and any well known names to fans in England will probably be met with “he’s ****” such is the level of player we can realistically attract.
Off the top of my head I can’t think of a striker well known in England who I’d be happy signing and is realistic. Broja possibly but I don’t know how realistic that is, there were some rumours about Piroe but I’m not fussed by him and I doubt Leeds let him go anyway.
So yeah I’m fine with signing the likes of Downs, Quarsie and a few more young players nobody has heard of, then loaning in 3 or 4 fringe players in the PL to give us that extra quality/depth which is what really separates the top teams in the Championship from the rest
Just googled him seeing as there is a Saint! thread on him. I think this is the perfect time to get him. Obviously talented and broken into the USA first team in World Cup year.
