Yeah it's worked out that way this year somehow but if they were going to scrap the provincial title's I don't think they would just look at one year.
They would'nt look at two year's either

And I said the same last year after Meath went out.
Overall, I'd prefer for the provincial championships to be separated from the All-Ireland, but for what it is, everyone gets one chance and one chance only at Sam.
For what it's worth, so far, provincial champions have won more quarter finals than they've lost.
Dunno why Dubs especially seem so eager to blame the system. And it is mostly Dubs that complain about provincial champions getting a hard time.

Not blaming any system. Every team doe'snt have the same crack because some team's have to play more game's than other's.
