The ultimate irony is when it's all tied to a speed limit sign.

Yeah, most of us (I guess) had our moments and were no angels back in the day.

But I think you are missing the points being made OLM, even though your post actually touches on one of them!!

As Ric posts, in a nutshell, "utter lawlessness .. and it's getting worse". Just wait till we catch up with what's going on in the bigger cities. Some of the videos of the reality of what's going on make me absolutely despair.

    THIS

You only need look at London to realise that the battle against crime is lost...

Yes,we were twats at times but we were dealt with when we stepped out of line.Nowadays, you can walk into a shop/supermarket and steal at will,WTF is that all about, what does that say to our young kids?

Big fines, borstals, young offenders institutes, imprisonment, all real threats to us if we stepped out of line and it was a real detterent.

Not now, they do what they like!!

there's always been bellends here and there, but it is 100% worse than its ever been
isolated incidents in the past excepted.

theres a genuine risk of a stabbing from any group of teenagers

its not even the polices fault, people would actually be shocked to find out just how little actual police officers there are

    uk is just broken mate

Indeed, it's clearly getting worse in general.

We all on here moan that we are a forgotten City at the arse end of the country. Personally I think we are lucky to be so remote from the ****holes which are growing more and more lawless and ****ed up by an influx of certain types. Sorry no politics.

If I didn't have local commitments, I would move to a certain place way up north from here (no, not Scotland! although in parts that is now tempting) that is way more 'forgotten and remote'. I often holiday up there and it's like a breath of fresh air (figuratively and literally) away from it all ... and that's even when acknowledging that yes, comparitively speaking it's not even that bad here (yet).

I love my City, I was born here, grew up here, the same with my country and it breaks my heart to see what’s happening.

Disappointing posters are attributing it to race
The scrotes that started this conversation by me
    We’re all white
The piss heads/ spice heads round town centre are all white
The black lads in town are the ones delivering the food to all the lazy fat bastards round Cambridge st area

should we be allowing all these dodgy immigrants/asylun seekers in?
    No
    And that’s a different discussion

It’s the general sense of lawlessness that annoys me. The country has its fair share of indigenous arseholes too.

I think the further away you are from the big Cities the better.

If I had the money and inclination to move,I'd probably choose somewhere between Malton and Thirsk. There are some beautiful little villages scattered around that area and time has stood still in most of them.

Cities are too big, overpopulated, lacking police numbers to deal with their issues and basically falling to bits and have been for years...Dumps!!

I live quite close, a mile or so, to 2 small villages and after 15 years of it I would never want to live in either of them. Pretty yes, quiet yes but parochial, self-absorbed and don't get me going on parish councils!

It's been widely publicised that Police are powerless to do anything for shoplifting under the value of £200. Technically that's not correct as they CAN do more, but in most cases it will likely only result in a slap on the legs and confiscation of the goods, especially if the thieving scrote is underage.

Once that knowledge is out, you're essentially opening the door for a Supermarket Sweep, and the only way to fix it is to clamp down, but we'd need about 1m more coppers for that

Shoplifting and knife crime is up, and need tackling, but overall crime is about half what it was in the 80’s

And before everyone says it’s because it’s not reported anymore, murders are down 40% since the 80’s and I’m pretty sure they always get reported.

We just never knew as much about crime outside our own area then

I do feel like a bit of mug actually paying for stuff when people are just allowed to walk out
with whatever they want to now

We all pay for it in higher prices (well the people who actually pay do)
