Even taking inflation into account, we overpaid, and Fryatt and McLean individually still cost less than Joseph.

I can't remember what price my first pints was in 1968 when I was 14 having my first.Beer was 4d a pint when you were a lad.
We still overpaid for McLean.Still can’t believe Joseph cost the same amount of money we spent on Fryatt and McLean combined.
Slater transfer really dragging on. Never going to recoup that £50k.Mcburnie really dragging on.
We've overpaid on current evidence, that said the value of investments can fall as well as rise.Even taking inflation into account, we overpaid, and Fryatt and McLean individually still cost less than Joseph.

Adjusted for inflation we could have had two Alf Common's, with an extra limb thrown in, for what we paid for Slater. Just shows how crazy transfers fees have become. We could have had 50 Alf Commons for what we payed for Regan Slater.

The Red Lion in Anlaby was 1/11 (for us Mods).A pint was 1/10 at the Stable Bar in the Croft Spa Hotel (near Darlington) in 1968. It was a pretty cool place frequented by all us young and trendy (we thought) mods.
I was getting 11 pints for £1 in 1968. That was in Leeds, don’t know if Hull was any cheaper.
****kkk….im now paying £10 for 1![]()
Women and beer and it all went downhill.I can't remember what price my first pints was in 1968 when I was 14 having my first.
No Vern, I've had a great life, just paying for it now with my health but not complaining one bit.Women and beer and it all went downhill.

I get that, it's more that it's public knowledge and another club could well swoop in.Sort of, but a lot of the time these deals are dragging on all summer without people knowing about it, and then the deal gets done on deadline day. The unusual thing with McBurnie is that it's public knowledge that we're after him. Alzate last summer probably spent all summer waiting for a better offer which ultimately never came, and so he signed for us.
