I’ve used HSBC since 1984 for wages in and paying bills, no issues at all.
Depends what you are looking for, I bank with Chase and RBS - both really good for different things
If you want high street branches then your Nationwide, HSBCs and Natwest are usually good
Online/Mobile banks then Chase and Monzo are pretty good
My card got scammed yesterday, but speaking to a human being is nearly impossible without DNA, good they blocked my card, but how do I get any money?
Been with Nat West for over 40 years...never had an issue and very helpful when I needed it.
Always a nightmare when that happens, a lot of the banks are now not putting the number of the front of the card due to the details being scanned
Best to normally have your 'virtual' card connected to your Google or Apple wallet - that way you can use your phone to make transactions. If you are old school and prefer cash then this wouldn't work but always good to have a back up if this happened

If you’re not bothered about having a branch, I bank with Starling and they’re great.
Been with Santander for about 15 years now. No complaints and give decent cashback each month. App is good and you get quick responses to questions.
Nationwide for me since 1989. Plenty of local branches and I've had no bother with them ever.

First Direct are really good. Never had any bother with them and on the rare occasion I've needed to speak to someone on the phone you get straight through and dont have to go through any menus or anything like that.
