As both Coventry and Sheff Utd found out, you'll do absolutely nothing if you don't take your chances. Having possession means not a single thing if you don't use it and score goals. We've been utterly clinical throughout the playoff campaign and thats exactly why we'll play in the Premier League next season.
It’s quite ironic that you use the bolded term! We had. 57% possession in the final, and hardly any in the semis. Yet we apparently got lucky in both ties! Despite having the better chances against Coventry, and creating better chances against Sheffield Utd (I.e., their 2 big chances were down to errors from us)

Awful and pointless.

It's a carer, for a lad in a wheelchair, in the South Stand ...

... I'm not sure he doesn't have issues of his own tbh.

During the 2nd leg I went towards him to say summat and decided against it, either Class A or not quite right imo.
In the east stand ya always know things aren’t going quite right by a single kick or punch to the stadium roof.

I can’t help but laugh now at the absurdity.

I've never paid much attention but since the semi-final I've noticed that the whole Jimmy Hill adoration is slightly warped.

Imagine if Alex Neil, a Scot, came to manage SAFC and changed the club colours, strip and badge.

Then copied a song from a posh toffs school, changed the words a bit and told the supporters that was now the club anthem.

Not only that we had to learn a new catchphrase copied from Portsmouth, who used it in the 1890's, 'Play up Sunderland'.

That all happened to Coventry and they simply accepted that one man decided what they would wear, sing and call the club ...

... it's absolutely laughable <laugh>

Had forgotten about those salty ****ers. Wonder if they've stopped crying yet....?

The 3-0 win over Sunderland and scraping into the playoffs has totally distorted their sense of reality, seriously it's weird.

They're convinced they're guaranteed the playoffs, contenders for the automatics and need to extend their stadium.

Am I missing something here?

In February Coventry were 11th with West Brom, Blackburn, Boro, Norwich and Wednesday all ahead of them.

In a normal season one or two of those team would've held their position, instead they all went on disastrous runs.

All Coventry had to do was make up four or five points which they did with a series of narrow wins over QPR, Preston, Sheff Wed, Oxford, Stoke and Portsmouth.

They barely created a decent chance in two games against Sunderland, in the playoffs ...

... they're in for a huge disappointment imo.

We are still at early days for them Smug. They've got decades more of hurt to come yet.

Jobe will be inconsolable that they think Rudoni is better than him as well so they are winning all the way.

They've become convinced the second half of last season will be repeated for the whole of next season and they'll go up.

What they're missing is that half a dozen of the teams that were above them totally collapsed.

Boro, Norwich, West Brom, Blackburn, etc, were ahead of them after Christmas but went on horrendous runs.

That allowed Coventry to scrape into the playoffs despite losing to Luton, Plymouth, etc ...

... as you say they've some heartbreak again this season.
