Yep it’s all about context. If Caleta-Car is replacing Mepham then bad. If he's replacing Seelt who's going on loan, and somebody else is coming in as the main center back, then great.
LCB to replace O’Nien in that starting side and we’ll be sound :emoticon-0148-yes:

people wondering how this new fella coming in will affect KS...looking at the way this club has changed since KLD came in i am of the opinion that KS was not only well aware that such an appointment would be needed (more eyes/legs to work with) but that he may well have had a big say in the process.

maybe one of his visits was to see this lad and welcome him aboard, either way i doubt KLD would 'want rid of' KS simply because he has been very good at his job, just being a premier league club now needs more work going on and having a good european head and knowledge on the staff is an excellent move.

i also think that we will see little in the way of transfers for a week or two yet although there will be contacts made and possible agreements made but we do tend to keep them quiet until the club is ready to 'spring' them, on us.

We're just not used to it mate! It takes a long time to shake off the feeling of chaos and short termism.

For so long, we were like that bloke who used to come on a stage and put some plates on the top of sticks, spin them to keep them up, and then keep running around like a dervish to keep them from dropping.

But we have hold of the plates now, and they're all fine. The progress beggars belief.

Some still look for evidence KLD is ripping the club off! Madness! The club was talked about by journalists ad being a joke among other clubs it was run that poorly! The change is night and day! Clubs trust us with their young talent, young talent sees us as a club to progress if they looking for a perm move to help them make the next step in their career, no one see the club as a joke in the market and then there is the pr side it was so professional atthe end of the season it was like seeing stuff from a different club. Then their is the new kits, bespoke to a level that only the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, Barcelona, Madrid usually get.

All depends who you partner him with. Caleta-Car + one of our existing CBs won't be good enough. He's good in the air and his box defending is pretty solid. Gets spun way too easily and some of his positioning while defending higher up the pitch is poor.

Biggest concern is that apparently his attitude stinks. That's just based on what Southampton fans have said though so could be a load of ****.
I’d like him in our system in all fairness

Him and Ballard would be affective box defenders and that probably what we’re going to need

I would like one defender that allows us to play a bit more progressively also

Just more on this. He’s slow and if we played front foot he’d get tortured on the break

but if we’re looking at a squad option CB he’s better than both mepham and tanganga. He could help defend our box when under pressure and that’s fine

but I wouldn’t be happy if he’s expected to start every week. I feel like that’s a bad move as he’s limited as a footballer but certainly has benefits to the system as a rotation option

Ballard and Caleta-Car as our starting CBs with Henderson sitting in front. 5 point season.

I clarified in post above I wouldn’t expect him to start every week but to come on and see games out or games when we’re expected to be under loads of box pressure it’s good.

if he’s starting every week we’re likely ****ed or it’s an RLB system masterclass
