On that basis no one will.

... makes you wonder what Enzo was thinking.

Welbeck, at 34yo, won't be going to a club higher than Brighton and any of the bottom half could be 'battling relegation'.

He won't be going to Man Utd or Spurs so that leaves three or four possibilities.

He's never shown any interest in playing abroad so that's probably out ...

... perhaps he'll go to Birmingham and pass Sunderland on his way back up <laugh>
We’ll see where Welbeck is playing his football at next season, then. I’d guess he stays where he’s at

1. RW and LW
2. LCB
3. CM
4. LB and RB
5. ST
Agree with that although RB could already be covered depending on Huggins injury recovery and his capacity to play a full season at the top level, and CM,depending on whether Nectar is judged to be good enough following his outstanding time at Hibs, albeit in a weaker league.

That's my point, the whole thread is guesswork ...

... I just don't see how our only signings have to be players expecting to be relegated.

Do that and we're as good as down before we kick off.

Nobody said we’ll be relegated, we’ll be in a battle to stay up, that doesn’t mean we’re gone.

1. RW
2. DM (not Henderson)
3. LCB
4. Either a 10 or a Jobe replacement, depending on how RLB wants to use Le Fee
5. Squad depth, particularly fullback and wing

It's tiring just thinking about the transfer business we need to do this summer. There's so much to do.

We've got a big squad that needs trimming, need more PL quality starters and then a good number of decent back-ups... maybe young uns from other PL teams who are frustrated at being miles away from the first team.

I think the club are right to focus on full back and wingers. After that it would be CB, Beefcake CMs and then anyone who is a good deal really.

Avoid the championship and anyone from relegated sides. Way too expensive for what you get in return.

Yeah I know I will be. Said my piece on him already so all I can do is get behind him. The story of him returning is great and he may be great off the field but we need so much better on the field in that area.
I won't truly judge the Henderson signing until the end of the window

He can't start week in week out in the PL, hasn't got the legs now from what I've watched over last few seasons. As a squad player and a leader in the dressing room I have no issue with the signing

Agree, I think the problem then though is relying on Neil to make the step up so that Henderson doesn't have to start. Not sure we can carry 3 DM's. Unless the plan is to move Neil forward but I've never liked him there.

My priorities:

1) CM
2) RW
3) CB
4) LB
5) LW

Will need additional support in CM, RB and possibly ST and GK too. Big summer ahead, but an exciting one
