I'll be heading down with the daughter Saturday morning as well. Hopefully get to the Argyle for a few before the match. Like people have said, it'll be good to meet some great posters and I'm sure great people from this board. Cheers to Smug again for doing what he does for the rest of us. Top man.
I've travelled with ALS lots of times (I've been a steward for them a few times, too) and they are good . . . . of course they have toilets, but they don't allow alcohol. If that's your plan you'd better book sharpish, mind . . . . this might be a popular trip
I dont quite understand the prices, Someone I know booked a return trip, Bristol to Newcastle for £40 by plane
What does everyone do for parking down there. Think my plan is drive to “walkable” for Wembley and tube to The Argyll and back. Less hassle after the game as it’s a long enough day! I’m on “your parking space” at the minute and looks reasonable. Considering official Wembley parking is £70!!
Download the Just Park App. It lets lets you book to park up on people’s drives and it’s not that expensive. I used it for the Wycombe final. 24 hours and paid about £30. We were a 10 minute walk from our hotel on Wembley way. I’ve used it again for next weekend. Parking up in Amersham then getting the tube into central London on the Friday afternoon then coming back on the Sunday afternoon. It’s costing me the princely sum of £13.96p to park there for 48 hrs!!!
Just with the Argyll Arms, make sure you get in there early as it gets absolutely fecking rammed on a Saturday at the best of times with Oxford St shoppers.
I've always taken a flask of 'strong' coffee when I've used them . . . . Nescafefiddich The last time, as soon as I opened it someone just said '****ing hell' . . . . it was strong (and aromatic)
The one time I used them (Coventry away in L1 when Cattermole scored) it was ****ing carnage. I'd followed the rules and brought sarnies and pop, then watched in amazement.....
Thanks mate. That’s what I’ve just done with your recommendation . £24 for the day 10 minute walk from the stadium. Hopefully get there nice and early and hit the Argyll at a sensible time
Im in Thailand, but I might fly back early for the match. If I don’t, my brother will be along to the Argyll, was brilliant there before the Wycombe game. Anyone thinking of going to the Argyll, there won’t be a better pub and group of people to spend time with before the match.
Wasn’t sure where to post this but I guess here is as good as any. I got a call last night from a mate at work to tell me he could get me 2 tickets (his mother in law and sister are ST holders but won’t be going) I texted my son in law to tell him as at that point we were thinking we wouldn’t be able to go - this was his response: “Absolutely buzzing you've managed to get us sorted for Wembley mate, literally made a childhood dream come true for me can't thank you enough!” He’s never been to Wembley before and he can’t wait! And there will be a nice bottle of Gentlemen Jack bourbon sitting on my mates desk soon as a small thank you for getting us the tickets
