You've got to expect some ups and downs Nass. Keep going![]()
Just watched Divot's last race Nass. Why did he get a sectional upgrade. Seemed to have a pretty normal run near the rails to me. Despite the race report saying he dwelt, he got away well from what I could see. He did throw his head about at one stage so maybe that was it. Regarding the longest stride, is this relative to others or relative to his stride during the rest of the race. This is another bit that fascinates me as he wasn't gaining at the finish so maybe he naturally has a longer stride due to his conformation. That was his first attempt at 10f
What I would find interesting is his previous races (beaten minimum of 6l in all of them). Would he have had sectional and/or longest stride upgrades/downgrades in those races? Is that something you can get from your system(s)?
Stride length top in two of the four runs. Southwell and LTO. This is relative to all horses in race, which can bring same horse to the fore many times if they are an exceptionally long striding horse.
Upgrades two of four runs scores 10 or above. LTO and Kempton
His upgrade last time was because of his ineffective style by jockey. He went faster than optimum in the early part, which made his last four furlongs really inefficient. The data suggests he could have run much better if he had been ridden more effectively.
This is what confuses me. He has an efficiency rating of 100.02 for his last run as opposed to much lower ratings for his previous runs
Apologies for my lack of knowledge, I thought this implied they do but I don't know what course par values areATR figures don’t use course par values, where Proform do, hence the difference.

"HOW THE OPTIMUMS ARE CALCULATED
The optimum figures we display have been calculated by Simon Rowlands, who is the leading expert on Sectional Times in the UK and are derived from efficiently-run races that resulted in fast times. The optimums allow for a standing start, course configuration and topographical changes."
Just a thought. Would you prefer I moved my questions to a separate thread to avoid cluttering your selections?
I see. Looking at this, the strong early pace would not have been ideal for a horse going up in distance for the first time, if not guaranteed to stay

). But what I would find interesting is a clock upgrade feature, similar in concept to your sectional upgrades but in seconds. Could be very useful combining with your other upgrades
