    No thanks
The game now is all about pace and recovery.
Doyle is a decent player but don't see him as a premier league player and not a massive step up from the players that we have.
    Personal opinion and all that...

I'd put a left footed CB near the top of the priorities list, would love for it to be Alese but can't seem to be fit for long periods. Doyle would be near the top of the options for that position.

Big fan of Hughes at Hull, wanted him before he went there. Brilliant with both feet.

Decent shout. He’s only a couple of weeks younger than Doyle

Doyle is a perfect example of how intense/extreme/bipolar our fanbase can be, played 5 games and was going to be England's best defender in a generation. (I'm exaggerating a bit)

We need to just chill out and see what happens, with players, manager, recruitment etc.

Be happy, have your concerns, but the time for an inquest is in June, not now.

    * This is just a personal view on our fans, not a dig at anyone

Also a LOT of loanees in league one from big clubs who will be eager to make the next step and permanent moves could be on the cards. Maybe the likes of Donley, Brad Hills, Keeley, Taylor etc.

I’ve not given up on alese. His injuries been unlucky rather than prone for me

My concern is he’s played very few games for a 24 y/o

Well he was with West Ham and then came to us and as I say got unlucky with injuries, he’s shown in cameos at this level he’s more than good enough imo, the step up would be a worry due to that experience I agree

Not given up but I don't really want to go into a season relying on him being fit, same with Huggins.

Genuine question not a dig, why?

If he was pulling his hammy every time he got injured yeah. But unlucky contact injuries? Im not worried they’re going to injury again, look at Alan Browne for example, always available, two impact injuries this year. Happens

While there is some truth to this, there has also been some reoccuring injuries, back to back quad pulls that had him out for months, 3 ankle injuries - all impact, does this suggest an underlying ankle weakness?

Not sure. He was out for a year with a ruptured quad. Not really impact. He seems so heavy set I for a mobile player and likely to pick up injuries.

He has quality I agree but it's make or break for him next year. Same as Huggins. Can not have a full time contract in the sick room

Possibly. I just don’t hold out much hope with Alese like. He won’t be here long term IMO

That's why. Yes it happens but he's missed more games than he's played. Quality player and we were a better team this season with him in it.

I don't lean a particular way on the matter, but think we need better regardless.

The quad was our fault mind

he wasn’t fit and we rushed him back for the play offs which seriously ****ed his quad

This is true, but he just has the type of build that puts you at risk for muscle injuries. I like him though, great character around the squad, really useful player when fit - would be totally up for him playing LCB in a 3 during playoffs.

He already had the quad injury through normal play.

Agree he was rushed for the reinury though.

Either way he has played no where near the enough games for someone of his age.

Don’t feel like we can pick and choose when we’re ready. Next season looks like it could be incredibly tough in the champ. Who’s to say we can replace jobe/neil and whoever else. Really hope we go up now
