I really don't think we can make too much of a judgement on Kyle Joseph at this stage. When I think back to what I've seen of him, I can barely remember him having the ball. I couldn't say with any confidence anything about his touch or ability on the ball. It's been the same with Pedro in recent months; most of what I think about his game is from things I saw him do months ago. I would say this is because of our team-wide struggles going forward, that our attacking players just don't see very much of the ball at all. That is obviously the priority to fix this summer and I think it's plausible at this stage that Joseph can continue to be involved as we do that.

If we want more value for money, which of course we should, then looking after our signings and giving them time is part of that. We have burned through way too many players already by giving up on them soon after they arrive.
Thought he was very decent with the ball on the final day. Skinned his full back a few times. Always presses very well

Fuming and embarrassed is the feeling I get.... Hopefully the unrest and hatred towards him at fenners pushes his attention back to us

it should do
they're just nutters over there, whenever they dont win the title, it's riot stations

The more I think about this, the more splinters I get in my arse from sitting on the fence .... I can see arguments for both sticking and twisting and neither convince me either way. I think it all boils down to who the replacement would be.

That's the clincher for me, Acun's got it wrong every time. I have no faith the replacement will be any better, sacking Selles has more downsides than upsides. It's yet another needless roll of the dice.

Also it would be costly, firing then hiring a coach and their staff. Wonder if we're still paying Shota, Walter and their staff.

Fortuna Sittard - spat his dummy out because he couldn’t get his own way
Shelbourne - same as above
Fenerbahçe - despised by fans in just 12 months
Hull City - ?

He’s not left a lasting positive impact on any club he’s been involved with. Maybe he’s the problem. Populist theatrics may impress the gullible but it gets old quick.

I think it all boils down to who the replacement would be and also if acun has serious doubts over selles ( either rightly or wrongly) then is it ever going to work or would keeping he just delay the inevitable to further down the line.

I really haven't enjoyed selles football ( so far ) but he's done the job he needed to do which was stay up and it doesn't matter if it's on GD or by 10pts. The results of relegation were catastrophic and with him doing what was needed he deserves a chance to kick on for me.
Selles didn’t have any attackers though. That’s the problem. Until we sign some genuine goal scorers, this will continue to be an issue.

im not defending acun here

but if you're on the board at fenerbahce, you are hated unless you win the title, thats it, i remember the videos, year before last, flags with the owners face, burnt and stabbed etc

but maybe seeing that volatileness from being on the inside might make him think, **** em, hull city it is :1980_boogie_down:

Ruben Selles at the starting block with 23 other Managers and a squad of fit players just seems to me to be a very different prospect to a Ruben Selles starting as a bottom feeder with key players out or about to be injured.
At this stage he knows the club and current players inside out, warts and all. He knows who should be retained and where improvements are needed. Acun can be mad all he wants about all this pressure on the last day, pressure that ultimately stems from Acun and his clean slate philosophy at the start of the season. There is no God given right that I am Acun and my team therefore is immune to failure. Every struggling team fights for survival...we did survive under Selles, survival as a response to a terrible decision by Acun himself.

Poor Acun. He was held at gunpoint to sign Sinik for £4 million.
Can't win can he?
On paper it could have been a great signing (see below), and at great age to be signing him. Unfortunately it's been a disaster, be it down to injury, mental, or combination (who knows the reality). But yeah, criticise him for trying eh. There's been plenty of other signings he's obviously had recommended to him that also haven't worked out.

“on paper could’ve been a good signing”

If Kyle Joseph had those stats and we brought him in then we’d be rightly criticising the £4m spent.

Sorry, I don't get your argument?

Kyle Joseph didn't have those stats. Everyone said hard worker, but won't score you the goals, and so it proved. We were a side bereft of goals. Bizarre signing. And not exactly cheap. Hence again why I asked 'who's signing was he'? If he was Selles's then I can imagine the doubt over him. If he was Dublin's, then it's concerning. If he was the scouting team, the a new HoR makes sense (it makes sense anyway, as recruitment has not been good enough, end of).

There's only three clubs he's actually owned, us, Maribor and Shelbourne, he was a minority owner in Fortuna Sittard and he's only a board member at Fenerbahce and Maribor are currently 2nd in the Slovenian top flight.

He's clearly made a lot of mistakes, but that's really not a very accurate post.
