Genuine question and not intended to cause an argument at all as I’m not a confrontational person. If we hear things from very reliable places who have been right on literally everything else they’ve said, would you prefer we all kept them to ourselves? If you do, I’m more than happy to shut up and never share anything and that’s not me trying to act petulant, I just can’t be bothered to log on here and see our comments thrown back at us constantly when we are just trying to share info about the club we all love so we all know a bit about what’s going on behind the scenes.

I don’t want praising as in ITK’er, I’m not sharing things for any sort of ego at all, I just like to hear about what’s going on in our club when other people share so I share little bits of info I ever get.

Well, if turns out to be wrong, I will say so.

What I'm not willing to do is be told I'm "making it up" when all I'm doing is passing on what little I get told. When I first posted it, there was a bit at the beginning clearly stating that I hoped it turned out to be wrong. I still hope it's wrong, I want nothing better than for the club to do well. Nobody wants the club they've spent what has to be tens of thousands of pounds by now (more for the older fans I imagine) on to fail and go under. That being said, when something as important as that gets passed onto me, I feel like it's in the best interests of everybody to hear about it. There's a heck of a lot I don't share either because I don't feel it's right to do so or because I think my pal has been misinformed. That's my call to make, call it gatekeeping or whatever, but I'm sure it's the same with the others.

Here's the thing, I don't actually know Howden, or M88 and other people who get a bit of insider info outside of this site. So if we all get told the same thing, either we hear it from the same person or there's at least some truth to it. As the old adage about coincidence goes, the universe is rarely that lazy.

Well said and what you said goes for me and all. I have zero interest in being lauded for bringing things up; if anything, it makes life more difficult for me if I choose to speak (I am in trouble), it would be far easier to just say nothing. If people don't want to believe it or question it, that's absolutely fine and I'd do the exact same thing. Scrutiny is important in this day and age, after all.

But taking the piss is a bit rich when people don't know anything either. If somebody definitively knows otherwise, please feel free to reach out, you'd make my day.

I don’t think it’s the fact You, Howden or M88 give info many on the forum appreciate you doing that and I also think GFAW probably appreciates it to,although he is also trying to defend the Owners corner just like some are defending Coyle’s.
 
Can I suggest that those who were posting their inside info last week go read the piece by Neil Warncock in the daily mail a few days ago. It was about promotion and relegation battles in the last week.

For those who can't be bothered it basically said he advised all players and staff not to talk to the media. Be very careful about what your telling to family, friends and mates.
There was nothing that came out last week wether it was true or not that couldn't have waited till this week. Fortunately we managed to do the minimum required while others failed to do what they needed to.

First bits v true. I have a lot of respect for what the Coyles have achieved and what they do. That said, maybe the issue is that, given what & who they are, they shouldn't be putting themselves in such situations. There's too many idiots about these days. I know, they should be able to go where they want, especially in their home town, and you'd like to think they'd get the respect they deserve, but unfortunately life just isn't like that any more. I welcome you and others sharing stuff that you think is credible. I've done it too on occasions previously.

What gets me is some people banging on about things as if it's fact, often regurgitating the same old rubbish every few months, and keeping on banging on about those things (he's lost interest, he's in the process of selling, we're skint, we're about to go bust, blah blah) when the evidence before our very eyes and ears shows it's simply not true. That's not helpful to the board nor the club we support. That's all.
