Last season we scored 68 and shipped 60 - this season we scored 44 and shipped 54 - so we were better defensively this season but awful up front - it's not difficult to see where the problems are and to be fair it's been obvious to everyone
I quite like it actually, but since I don’t own one and am unlikely to own whatever the next one is, feel freeCan we ditch that **** green training kit too. It’s synonymous with Walter and looks crap.
Hopefully once the dust settles, the club will be holding annual performance reviews with the players that are staying.
Several deep penetrations are needed with a few players (ooh er, Missus).
I would be suggesting to Kamara, Burstow and Joseph that they make use of a sports psychologist; all big money signings who for one reason or another haven't fired to the level needed, although all have shown the potential to be influential players.
They each need to identify their inner chimps and manage them better.
I believe all three can kick on and really contribute next season.
12th since Selles came in, that's terrific considering the context of the side he inherited and attempted to cobble together in January. Surely, SURELY we don't rip it up and start again without giving him a chance to prove himself.
I’ll put it this way.
If we are in financial trouble I’d trust Selles to maybe keep us up next season.
We’d have to be able to say the same about any replacement
Talk of giving Selles the tintack is a bit crazy without considering the question of who in their right mind would come here, especially if there's little planned change in the squad depth and talent....Only the desperate for a job, a failure elsewhere, or a Tim Walter clone would take it... If Acun is making the decisions it could be anyone in those three categories...I’ll put it this way.

Agree, Acun has to learn from his previous mistakes of sacking managers to then replace them with someone with less ability than the person he just sacked!!!
Selles needs to ship out the players he inherited & doesn't want & to bring in the players that he needs.
There are just too many average players in the current squad
Up front is the big problem, money will need to be spent to bring in a proven Championship striker (no more League 1 strikers)
I'm pleased the season is over and that we have avoided relegation. For the first time in my City supporting life I was seriously questioning wether or not to continue with my club membership. I saw the extent of our weaknesses in the pre season games and for the first time in my life left one game at half time, the same one a potential striker we were talking too also left at the same time, So I feared the worse from day one and I had no faith or confidence in Tim Walters at all. He was a terrible appointment.
I just did not see the point or the thinking behind appointing someone with no experience in the country who wanted to reinvent the game, with little past success of doing so anywhere else?
And it showed on the field. The situation we found ourselves in and off the field was totally down to mismanagement off it, and sadly I've seen that continue throughout the season. It did appear the owner had taken his eye off the ball and was losing interest.
The mounting debt was and still is a worry.
So relegation to the League One would have been a disaster. But we have avoided it. The manager deserves a reprieve with no pressure of the sack hanging over him whilst he starts pre season with a clean slate. He deserves that opportunity.
The weakness in the squad are obvious to all and we have some expensive deadwood hanging around. That needs getting rid of.
The owner needs to show his commitment and I'm sure he is aware of that.
He and his recruitment team know exactly what we need, or at least I hope they do.
Because another season like the one we have just witnessed is simply not good enough.
...
I know you said 'if', but surely it's now time for everyone to drop this 'we are in financial trouble' rumour stuff. Along with the 'he's lost interest', 'he's selling up', etc etc. It's embarrassing.
Of course there isn't a bottomless pit and there's financial constraints, but just let them now get on with the job. Lesson's have undoubtedly been learnt and they are on with it.
Forget his name now, coloured guy, sat with his agent in the best seats in West Stand, he was sat looking at his mobile all the first half looked bored out of his skull, then the half time whistle blew and they both upped and cleared off never to be seen or heard of again.Who was the striker?
There's bound to be some kind of financial agreement/incentive involved. That's the way it is...Can we ditch that **** green training kit too. It’s synonymous with Walter and looks crap.
Thomas-Assante or the lad Keinan Davis..who was at Forest during their promotion season. Or was that the season before?Forget his name now, coloured guy, sat with his agent in the best seats in West Stand, he was sat looking at his mobile all the first half looked bored out of his skull, then the half time whistle blew and they both upped and cleared off never to be seen or heard of again.
Did Acun do some sort of post-match interview after Portsmouth? Saw on Twitter he did and said some things…
