Just feel if he was staying we’d have heard something about it.

Got me, it's the fact that Trent has never suggested he wants to stay. He didn't need to declare his life to the club, just wondering like he'd like to stay if possible.
I really don't care. Ideally he stays but of the three he is the most replaceable and I've accepted his leaving a long time ago.
The last rumour I saw was that Real's offer was much lower than ours was to him months ago. So maybe since Real made contact, he's had second thought or maybe he's gone back to them asking for more an is waiting till they decide.
Real have other targets they want, so I suppose it may come down to what they are willing to budget for and if that means not being able to get everyone they want if they do come through for Trent

Well apparently, or should I say its rumoured, he is signing up with us so we will see if jb finds out when the announcement is.
Isn’t Ancelotti off this summer? I suspect much depends who is coming in. All parties will be in a holding pattern now.
Think we all know it's Alonso going in, but that's going to cost. £15m in compensation, so there is another expense they probably weren't counting on.
Same although the age of the other two concerns me, they've both clearly lost a bit of pace this season imo. I know they've only just resigned but we need to be planning for their departures
I think in Salah's case the 2yr deal is for just that. It means we're not having to replace this summer so that we can concentrate on other areas and we are protected from losing him for nothing. In a years time we probably sell, take a smallish fee and use that towards replacing. Personally I'd like Williams from Bilbao and if they win the EL that years grace with Salah could come in handy.
VvD is different, that he's a CB and so long as he can adapt his game, a replacement is 2 years down the line.
I agree with that too... I hope they last at least one more year. We have so many positions we need to replace it is good we can put it off a year if we have to.
Football in general is a calculated risk. Both of the players mentioned could have signed new contracts last summer and still moved on at the end of the season. Both have now signed and could be injured for next season. Slot could have been a disaster and he was moved on etc.etc. I’m pretty sure all of these risks / have had been factored in by the club and would argue that the only thing certain in football is the uncertainty.
Watching 90 minutes of football a week doesn’t make a fan an “out of the world” risk manager or clairvoyant around conversations that may or may not have happened.

When vvd posted pic of him signing new deal he captioned it special moments.
TAA posted pic yesterday of him celebrating with caption of special moments….
does that mean he’s staying?
And kerkez putting more bait out there with a comment under pic of szobo with an egg timer and a bear suggesting only matter of time before he joins?

Well, my first comment after the announcing that Salah had signed was "we can sell him now"
I think VVD shopped around before signing his new deal; he didn't get a better offer.
