I am always happy to discuss all things related to LFC and I do see your point. There was an element of risk letting the contracts run down, there is a risk extending contracts of ageing players. I think the balance is about right but time will tell. Trent I think is a different issue. It looks like his head was turned, Mo and VVD both wanted to stay. As I said, time will tell
I think there's no more risk with vvd than any player who might have a leg snapped off in the morning (which is covered by insurance) I'm convinced he can last 2 years and if really necessary adapt his game if he loses pace radically.
Yes there's risk in salah. He's getting slower, not sure if he is Kurt slow right now but he is aged Kurt slow just yet.
Dirk was never quick but he was effective. It was sad to see his last season where he looked like cheisa with his legs spinning but going nowhere amd being just ran past.
Salah has means to be effective but he isn't going to beat anyone for pace and will have to further adapt. His contract was necessary as there's other places to change first. I'm hopeful he won't play too much the season after next and we will be waving bye and thanks at the end.
We need him next year and I think (but am not as confident) that he will get 20 goals again.
These contracts put hughes on 2/6 so he has work to do. A huge summer ahead, and there's no way fans should accept that it's a huge summer already due to two contracts.
The club MUST set itself up for 2 years time.
