One advantage of Oxford fans giving up well before FT was that it was then quicker than usual to exit the car park! Great having so much free parking though

I thought yesterday's game was almost the reverse of our match at Stoke

Stoke pressed and moved the ball more effectively than we did; yesterday we did those much better than Oxford

I was surprised that when we played out via Edwards he was afforded so much space - they surely must've analysed that he likes to move forward with the ball as opposed to just launching it as Dunne frequently does

Thought they looked knackered after what sounded a very energetic performance on Saturday. Playing at walking pace for weeks left us fresh and ready to pounce.

Good win and 3 desperate points gained. Varane is turning out to be a real solid purchase. Edwards is a level above this and has done himself no harm if he's looking to leave the Saints for a premier league team. We should be looking towards another season in the championship and basing a team around the likes of Morrison, Varane and even Bennie (who had some very bright movement). It felt like it was a goodbye to Paal which I'm not actually bothered about.
In an ideal world, who would make a 1st eleven we would be happy to see? Nardi, Morrison, Edwards(can't see it happening unfortunately), Dunne as he scores and assists, Varane any others? Maybes Saito, Field and Kolli. Morgan and Alfie i don't think are good enough. Smyth I like as a lower championship player. Rest are poor?

We have three class players in Nardi, Morrison and Varane (Edwards will go back). Field, Dunne, Chair and Saito are also very good at this level and Morgan is one for the future. The rest of them aren't much cop, really.

Oh, add JCS to the class list if he can ever get fit.

Nardi, although I wouldn't be too bothered if it was Walsh. Morrison, Dunne (but I think he will have some much better offers), Varane, Chair, Dembele, Kolli, Field. Anyone else I'm not really bothered for. Alfie and Morgan just don't quite cut the mustard for me.

I thought their dembele was better than our one overall, the Oxford fans are slating him though so there you go, maybe haven't seen enough of ours yet

I’d put Saito above both Chair and Dembele, though I suppose he’s a loan so won’t be here soon. I saw a game at Sparta Rotterdam a couple of months ago and their fans love him - they had him on loan too.

I think Bennie has something about him but needs careful management, he is a kid.

We’re going to have gaps all over the place in the close season. Possibly at management level too.

Yeah I agree about Bennie. He made some intelligent runs to be fair. The way we are run as a club, every season will be a bit of a re-build project.
