Isn't there some rule where the amount of the fine doesn't count against next season's spending? Didn't that happen to Citeh? Still, I suspect whatever the scale of any potential fine, it won't be anything like what they will make from the club world cup (another competition that rewards teams financially that are already well rewarded).
Probably. But this is often talked about as if it's either United or Spurs that will win it. In fact there's a very good chance that neither team will!
It would save a quarter of a century for us... ...but, alas, we are less likely to win it than we are to see Donald Trump rallying the troops in the front line of Ukrainiane's defence
The football Enrique has PSG playing is genuinely unreal, especially when you consider in the last 18 months or so they’ve lost Mbappe, Neymar and Messi. He’s incorporated a style that has pressing, possession, countering and individual flair. Just killed off Villa in the 92nd min to make it 3-1.
It was a joy to watch: the pressing, the control of possession and the incredible individual skill levels What was very noticeable was that they regularly take 'breathers' in possession - allowing them to then swarm all over the opposition when they (occasionally!) get possession. Villa were still remarkably in the tie until the 3rd went in, but it's impossible to see them turning this around now.
It was some of the best football I’ve seen from a side that isn’t (now) littered with world stars. The fluidity of their play and the tactical variety was just mental, it was like Pep/ Enrique’s Barca, Jose’s Madrid and Conte’s Inter along with periods of allowing individual brilliance all rolled into one game plan, they didn’t even play with a natural striker either! Enrique played some unreal stuff at Barca but with Messi/ Neymar/ Suarez/ Iniesta etc it’s easier to do as such. About half his team last night were 25 and under, including 2 of his 3 subs and for most of the game it felt like men against boys and we all know that Emery’s Villa are no mugs, far from it. They were brilliant against Liverpool in the previous round too so it’s clearly not a one off. Very, very impressive stuff.
