Saving grace MAYBE Stoke have to play Cardiff Derby Leeds and Sheffield United Cardiffs big games are Stoke and Sheffield United. Trouble is, Sheffield United have reached bottling it stage Its a bad thing when we cant trust our own team to get us out of the mire...take away CH goal and thats 3 games we have deserved to be relegated in.,
Biggest disappointment was the lack of fire in the belly. Needed to be right up for this and it was like pre-season.
Problem is three of the five remaining games are at home (Coventry, Preston, Derby) ..I can't see us getting a win...Two away: Swansea, Portsmouth... Max points = 6 points...for 50....Enough to stay up????? Who knows.
I was playing football tonight so missed the first hour or so of the game. Got in the car at 9pm and heard on the radio we were 1-0 down. At that point I had absolutely no doubt that we would lose the game. Our away form is obviously good, but it's always by scoring first that we get results. Whenever we go behind away from home the game just peters out and we get nowhere near an equaliser.
It does seem that in recent weeks, many of the other relegation teams play like they're on steroids: aggressively fighting every action (like Luton the other week), whereas we seem to meekly resign ourselves.
Yeah home or away once we concede you know it's usually game over barring one or two excpetions now and again.
We've played 41, so far......Of those we've Lost 17 when we've gone behind or 41.46%. Compared to 8 wins when we've gone ahead and won 19.51%. We've only drawn 4 9.76% after going behind...That's why we are where we are...No bouncebackability. No bottle or interest. No plan B.
I didn’t watch tonight , and no excuse I just wanted to watch something else instead . I’m just bored of watching us . Even the games we win are generally boring , I can’t wait until the season is over to be honest
11 draws, went ahead in 8. Really interesting point. Mentality is awful. Every win we celebrate like we’ve stayed up, every loss the players seem like we’ve been relegated.
Game felt like a friendly, two well below average teams. 0-0 would’ve been fair but their goal was a nice finish. Was Gelhardt injured? He was the one who looked like he could make something happen but he was the first to come off.
Those last 4 ought to be very winnable, and we've shown we can come up with the unexpected (meaning gives at least a glimmer of hope that we'll get a nice surprise v Coventry). BUT that's 2 goals in the last 4 games, and 1 of those was a last gaps wonder goal. I fear it's going to do for us. I can picture us on the last day of the season at Portsmouth bringing Amrabat and Joseph on yet again for the last 10 minutes frantically looking for a late goal. Nothing against Amrabat - he tries, but his cameos are now a joke. Question. I get that losing Millar and Belloumi were big losses, and that our defenders aren't the greatest in terms of going forward ... but ... with the plethora of midfield and attacking options that Selles has had at his disposal since January, once in the opponents half shouldn't we be seeing more 'cohesion' in our attacking play, more nous, more taking players on, better decision making, better final balls (never mind actual finishing). That side of our play is almost always so poor.
They can’t be doing it consistently enough because we’re still the ones that sit outside of the bottom three. Two games ago it was by only 1 point, now it’s 2. Yes, it’s a shame we didn’t get a result tonight, but the amount of games left keeps shrinking and we’re still managing to stay ahead.
Just checking whether you mean this game, Sheff Wed, Cardiff, Luton home and away, Sunderland home and away, Blackburn home and away...
