Is this the full bifta?
There isn't any iceberg.
There was an iceberg, but it's in a totally different ocean.
The iceberg is in this ocean, but it will melt very soon.
There is an iceberg, but we didn't hit the iceberg.
We hit the iceberg, but the damage will be repaired very shortly.
The iceberg is a Chinese iceberg.
We are taking on water, but every passenger who wants a lifeboat can get a lifeboat, and they are beautiful lifeboats.
Look, passengers need to ask nicely for the lifeboats if they want them.
We don't have any lifeboats, we're not lifeboat distributors.
Passengers should have planned for icebergs and brought their own lifeboats.
I really don't think we need that many lifeboats.
We have lifeboats and they're supposed to be our lifeboats, not the passengers' lifeboats.
The lifeboats were left on shore by the last captain of this ship.
Nobody could have foreseen the iceberg.

American police force saying Democrat leaders are guilty of inspiring terrorism due to the attacks on Tesla’s.

I find it funny how Trump told his protestors on Jan 6th to calm down and stay peaceful, yet the left are actively encouraging violence and riots.

The hypocrisy of the left is genuinely incredible

Three things... The protestors wouldn't have been in Washington if they hadn't been told constant lies about election fraud by Trump and been asked to assemble there on that day by him. They wouldn't have marched to the Capitol if they hadn't been directed there by Trump. They wouldn't have been whipped up into a frenzy if the speakers at the morning rally including Trump never used rhetoric like "fighting like hell for the country" and "let's have trial by combat".

As it happens, the USA does have a domestic garment industry. I have bought jeans online, for half the price of a pair of Made in Bangladesh Levi’s, from a Vermont based company called American Apparel, who provide a mail order service to the U.K. Guess I won’t be doing that anymore.
We do have a few stores that sell made in US clothes. I find them to be more expensive than Levi’s. They sell a few clothes besides jeans but the selection is not large. I still end up mostly foreign made clothes.

I think it will be interesting to see what will happen if Trump is no longer at some later point and the US economy goes into recession. Might be a point when the Republicans decide Vance might not bee a shoo in for a replacement president.

Hopefully not until the midterms at least, Vance is worse than Trump. Dread to think what he'd do with control of the House and the Senate.

A big shout out to the NHS and Labour.
I posted recently about how my son had been put on the “urgent list” for treatment, because of having been waiting for about 2 years to have hernia surgery.
He had to report to the hospital at 12.30 today and having been operated on and having passed the two “tests” they set (eat and keep down food and go to the toilet - not at the same time) he was back at home by 17.00, in the loving care of his girlfriend, who will likely kill him if he plays on his invalidity for too long .
8 weeks of recuperating now, which he can’t rush because of the physical nature of his work - plumber who specialises in bathroom fitting.

Vance terrifies me more than Trump. Trump is a bully and an idiot who reacts without thinking and is too proud to admit when he makes mistakes. He's the showman who distracts the punters whilst the pickpockets work the crowds. Still, like many bullies, he has a fragile ego that can be flattered, and Britain has this great con trick called "Pomp and Ceremony".

Vance strikes me as calculating and cruel. He seems to have objections to NATO and Europe in general. Our best hope here is that Vance is a pragmatist who realises that driving Europe away would only strengthen China.

Who has even decided that anyway. If Trump passes due to ill health the succession crisis will be a bloodbath. Perhaps not the literally kind like we’ve seen in our own and European history with monarchies but it won’t be pretty. Only peaceful intra-Republican transfer of power would be if Trump is still alive and steps down and hand picks a successor. But that doesn’t seem massively likely at the moment

The right's mis/disinformation campaign of lies and distortion is an insult to the intelligence of the vast majority who hold Trump responsible fo the insurrection. It's worth looking at the timeline, it wasn't until two hours after the violence began that Trump called for calm and another three before he told them to "Go home with love and in peace:-

Well, yeah, but EVENTUALLY he told people to calm down and go home, so he must be OK, and the right is clearly better than the left, as that's the information I've been fed

You guys on here seem to have a really warped view of America and I don’t get it.

Of course it has its faults like any country. A lot of aspects could be better and there is a lot of poverty there considering it’s wealth and stature.

However it’s still the home to most of the world’s largest companies and therefore most of the smartest people. The engineering talent in America is still unbelievable, despite the hollowed out manufacturing base.

The tech, semiconductor, photonics, materials science etc etc etc that goes on there is truly next level. Most of the innovations in recent history have happened there. China is catching up and arguably overtaking, but make no mistake about how successful America has been.

You guys seem to think the entire country is full of morons which simply isn’t the case. It’s very odd. I’m sure some professors will leave, but those are the ones that are probably captured by Marxist ideology anyway. The innovators and entrepreneurs will continue to create.
Most of the tech companies in the US also have research bases around the globe. More importantly where do they get their products made. For example iPhones and Mac’s are not made in the states they are made in China, Korea and other countries where the labour is much cheaper. Thats why the tech companies like Apple, Microsoft, Cisco, AMD, Nvidia, ARM and Intel have plummeted the most
