What has happened to the Russian culture in Ukraine is cultural genocide.
Ukrainian kids being told to say they love russia, because the teachers are very strict. It's calling brainwashing you obtuse ****. And also considered genocide.
russian isn't banned in Ukraine, they just don't use it as the main language for teaching in schools. People only speak russian there because the USSR imposed it in all countries it occupied, whilst also moving populations around and replacing them with russians.

The russians are literally doing that now in territories they took by force. Burning books, arresting people for pro-Ukraine posts/msgs, brainwashing kids...
Ukrainians are not eliminating russian culture, there are still russian-language TV shows, newspapers, etc....It's pretty ****ing understandable that they're not keen on russia right now though.
Ukraine wasn't a country because it's been the crossroads for centuries of warring countries.
