I suspect it's because people are so utterly horrified by the possibilities under Trump. I'm just guessing here, but you know that thing people say where you're asked "if you could go back in time, would you kill Hitler as a baby" and most people say "yes", because it would stop some of the most appalling incidents in history.

Now I'm not saying I agree, and I'm not saying it's right to make that comparison, but try and understand that that is how concerned people are right now. It's the potential for what *might* happen. Not necessarily what will happen. But there's a lot of people far smarter than you or I, who are seeing parallels to things that happened in the not too distant past.

I see that there are reports coming out now that US is stopping sharing intelligence with Ukrainian forces.

People are scared, Os.

Look, I hope that everything turns out as good as you think it will. Everyone does. I just don't trust this lot as far as I could thrown them, and I don't think their intentions, ability or sense is anywhere in the same league of positivity as you do. Not much we can do but wait and see really.

I don't think someone should call for him to be killed (if you look at it, nobody actually has, one person just said essentially that they wouldn't be bothered if he was).
Nobody is actually comparing him to Hitler.
So no. Not really.

I think the bloke is a total ****stain, and I won't lose any sleep when he finally pops his clogs. But then I won't lose any sleep when Biden does either.

Whilst I don't want to wish death on anyone (even someone who would want him dead would need to understand that they would be creating a martyr), I have to say the way he must be pissing off the military industrial complex and secret services in the US does make me wonder just how safe he, Vance and Musk must be. Oddly I think Vance and Musk are probably more at risk.

Vaguely related side note - The boom in European defence stocks over the last few weeks makes me annoyed that I cashed in all of my stocks to help with moving house....

That experiment does look a bit pointless (though the money involved is frankly piffling), but I'm not a medical professional, and there are many experiments conducted on mice and rats to see what happens when you do something. You understand that, right? There's nothing there to say that they're not looking at that and saying "putting a feminizing hormone in a mouse means x and y stuff happens and that isn't good, so we probably shouldn't be thinking of doing the same in humans".

One thing it definitely isn't saying is that it's "perfecting the process for use on America's boys". But EVEN IF IT IS doing that, it's doing it so that any transgender medications don't have an effect that causes disease etc. THAT IS HOW ANIMAL TESTING WORKS.
