Match Day Thread Toon v Brighton (FA Cup)

I keep saying it but Howe allows these cbs to be everywhere they shouldn't be.

How are we so **** at defending - it’s school boy stuff, the LB and LCB are ahead of the ball in our own third, the LW and RCB leave the one man they are marking between the pair of them. ****ing comical.

The referee isn’t helping mind.

Can’t blame Howe for school boy defending.

I would be tempted to take Joelinton off for Bruno purely to make sure he doesn’t get sent off.

not good enough and they both end up in every area they shouldn't be. It's basically allow it.

Burn in particular is allowed to do whatever the hell he likes. He ran about 30 yards out of position leaving a hole the size of the titanic behind him.

Burn is ****ing dire, has been for ages. Thinks he’s way better than he is, always so far out of position, then your other two defenders should be playing for Newcastle Vets.

This will end up worse once Howe makes his subs, so if Newcastle concede the next goal, it'll be a rough second half.

Wait until Howe makes his subs, that will make sense.

We are all high press 100mph but we can't keep possession without going back to our keeper which ends up putting us under pressure.

I don't even see much intensity. Isak and Joelinton are the only ones that can play properly.

As soon as botman had a big injury we simply had to be buying someone yet didn’t.

Targett for Trippier, Bruno for Joelinton and Murphy for Barnes.
