Just reminded me I need to update my Champion Hurdle thread - I was away in Munich for the DRF and haven't got round to it yet
Not done as many as i would do normally up to this time of the year but here's a few that i have done this week... Spud race; Jet Blue @ 12/1, Good N' Kind @ 50/1 Stayers; The Wallpark @ 16/1 Bumper; Aqua Force @ 16/1, Ksar Fatal @ 14/1 Triumph; Live Conti @ 20/1 Pertemps; Bugise Seagull @ 25/1, Feet of a Dancer @ 14/1 Ultima; Lowry's Bar @ 20/1 Kim Muir; Git Maker @ 20/1 All done in e/w singles, bound to add to my list as the time gets closer to the day... Good luck to all...
Nice one red - Bugise Seagull definitely of interest in the Pertemps. I’ve done my usual detailed analysis of the race and will put up a thread after the last qualifier at Chepstow this weekend.
Grand Annual [Wednesday] This horse will appreciate welcome drop in class Edwardstone Each Way [NRNB] @ 20-1 [Ladbrokes]...4 places
I just noticed that Chepstow isn't the last qualifier - there is also one at Naas on Sunday and currently there are 27 horses entered
Fred Winter Puturhandstogether 12/1 e/w NRNB bet365 and sky five places, 12/1 NRNB Lads and Coral four places Jack Richards Novices' Answer To Kayf 12/1 e/w NRNB Lads and Coral four places, 10/1 NRNB bet365 and sky five places Kim Muir Sine Nomine 25/1 e/w NRNB Lads and Coral four places, 20/1 NRNB bet365, sky and PP five places
Will we see another attempt, at Naas, to get Staffordshire Knot qualified (his last 2 runs have been in Pertemps Qualifiers. Formline -50).
Certainly should do Agatha proud that race on Sunday at Naas - notebook will be out. I'll be posting a detailed analysis next week but from what I can see right now, several at the top of the ratings also have Stayers Hurdle entries and I think we might up with a relatively small field. Currently anything north of 128 will get you in but obviously we will see which 8 qualify from the last 2 races.
Every so often racing gives you an incredible heart wrenching ending. So how about WILLIAM MUNNY in the Supreme?
Staffordshire Knot won't be running at Naas on Sunday - no chance for him then to tie, I say tie, up qualification for the Pertemps Final. The old boy though does have 2 other handicap hurdle entries at the Cheltenham Festival. The Naas field for that Pertemps Qualifier, incidentally, looks very, very, very competative with 19 declared.
Coral Cup Eagle Fang 50/1 e/w NRNB Lads four places, 33/1 NRNB bet365 five places County Pinot Gris 25/1 e/w NRNB Lads and Coral four places, 20/1 NRNB WH, bet365, sky, PP and betfair five places Martin Pipe Comfort Zone 25/1 e/w NRNB sky, PP and betfair five places
I was looking at him this morning. As a juvenile he was well fancied for the Fred Winter but finished mid-field. Interesting but a lot will depend on what mark the British handicapper gives him of course.
If the ground is on the softer side then William Munny would be a cracking proposition at those odds lads. Nice odds you got so good luck. The only fly in the ointment is it wouldn't inconvenience the current Mullins fave either, who, as Oddy said above, looks to be potentially anything right now.
National Hunt Chase Captain Cody 8/1 e/w NRNB Lads and Coral four places, 7/1 NRNB bet365 and sky five places Grand Annual Dee Capo 16/1 e/w NRNB Coral four places, 14/1 NRNB bet365 five places, 14/1 NRNB WH and Lads four places Hunters Chase Music Drive 20/1 e/w bet365, Lads and Coral three places
Has been given a mark of 147 by the British Handicapper which shows the danger of running handicappers in Grade 2 and Grade 1 races - you get weight for sod all. I can't see him being competitive off 147.
