I actually retract my previous comment. Liverpool probably do want it. But only as it serves the purpose of being a good side dish for a big club, which complements a proper trophy and can be used as a brag to say you've won multiple trophies. But if that was the only thing Liverpool won this year though, you'd be gutted. Same would be true of City. And if that was the only thing Arsenal won this year, it would be a fun 24 hours or so and a nice first trophy for a few years, but it wouldn't ease any pressure on Arteta. As a standalone trophy it will mean far more to Spurs and Newcastle than it would to Liverpool. My ranking of what I'd rather watch us do this season: Win the prem and CL double Win CL and finish miles off in league but get CL qualification (only because we've never won it before) Win league and KO'd in CL early on Win nothing but have a run to the final of the CL Win nothing but at least win last 16 and 1/4 final of CL, knocked out in semi Win nothing but at least win the last 16 CL round, knocked out in 1/4 final Win league cup but get KO'd out the next CL round Lose to Newcastle in semi and also win nothing from now on and be KO'd the CL in the next round Get to the league cup final but lose it to Spurs or Liverpool 1-3 have next to no chance. 4 is a pipe dream. 5 is a vaguely realistic hope I think. Maybe. 6 is bare minimum and buys at least one more season of backing from the fans i'd say.
Quite possibly. But better than 9 so we've already avoided the worst case scenario! If we lose to Juve, PSV, Feyenoord or Milan in the next round, Arteta and the board are going to get it in the neck from the fans as they're objectively worse teams than us.
Arsenal also held talks with the representatives of AC Milan and Spain striker Alvaro Morata, 32, last week before he joined Galatasaray on loan. (Athletic - subscription required) Thank **** we didn't do this
I preferred Slot's comments two weeks ago when he said that Arsenal were objectively better than Liverpool and Liverpool are only top because of being lucky with injuries.
Yeh mate Allison wasn't out for 3months, jota is never injured Joe Gomez and Konate ain't been out for 2 months either. Chiesa, elliot and the rest. And You lost Saka? After you bottled the league so who even cares Cry more innit losers
However, just for objective purposes so you have all the facts at your fingertips and it's quality bait: 24/25 as of 3 weeks ago Liverpool - 12 injuries, 467 days missed Arsenal - 20 injuries, 567 days missed So we've already had 21% more days missed from injury than you as of three weeks ago. And since then, you've had Trent out (due back next week) and Gomez out (due back anytime now apparently). We've got Jesus out (for a year), Saka out (until April), White out (due back in a couple of weeks), Tomiyasu (always out), Martinelli out (unknown return). So I imagine it's more than 21% now.
Arsenal probably wouldn't have as many injuries if they stopped throwing themselves on the floor and rolling around feigning injury at every opportunity
I would say that then they’d have to do it to every club that does it regularly in the prem, but actually we all know they don’t apply any of their yellow and red card rules fairly and consistently.
No one does it as much as Arsenal, yeah clubs have certain players that do it, we have Paqueta for example, but at Arsenal it's every single player. Rice is a prime example, he used to run off injuries after getting hacked down, joins arsenal and within a couple of months he's tumbling to the floor and rolls around like he's been shot over the slightest contact. no one comes close to Arsenal for on pitch cheating, the fans of all other 19 clubs agree on that, as do the stats.
Perfect. Can you post the evidence of all fans of all 19 clubs agreeing on that as well as the stats please?
