There’s also a very good chance we haven’t met what Sporting want, rather than Edwards “choosing” Burnley

Marcus Edwards wants to return to England. ✈️

According to @Record_Portugal, Sunderland and Burnley asked for the Leo winger - Sporting is willing to negotiate between €8 and €10M.

Edwards was quoted at €30 million in June 2023, according to Transfermarkt.

Considering Fabrizio said we are in talks insinuates we are willing to sell if we can agree a fee
If they are going to sell him then they must have someone lined up to replace him as RLB said he wants 2 wingers for each side

A good time to post this then:

Everton were keen on Edwards a couple of days ago but there were concerns that he has been picking up injuries even though not playing a lot. If we were going to spend a lot of money on a RW then I'd want him to be robust enough to play a lot

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Edwards: “The game time is certainly not ideal and the injuries typically wouldn’t be too concerning but the concern is he’s picked up a few in very limited minutes.

“I wouldn’t call it a red flag but things you have to be aware of when it comes to his fitness.

Personally I think the time to be concerned about lack of incomings is if you wake up Monday morning and there’s no links. Even the. It’s obviously not too late. But that’s when I’ll worry.

in a way it’s good we don’t play until Monday as I think a loss or draw today would send some over the edge

I know some don’t agree but if we don’t manage to sign anybody it’s going to be a big mistake for me and potentially costly
Everything is “potentially” something.

the squad is strong and has been strengthened by the addition of Le Fee. If we don’t get any other deals across the line then it’ll be disappointing but not fatal

Just with his contract running down, he had rejected a contract offer, dunno how recent. I do think though it's probably because like everyone else, such as Cirkin and Neil, they're waiting on where we are.

Thats sort of where we are & the luck of when their contract runs out..... obviously we lose quite a lot of our cards in negotiations if we wait until the summer, which might mean we lose money than if we sold now.....i hope given the way the seasons gone the club accepts this as a calculated risk & keeps them.... hopefully they sign new deals, hopefully we go up.....just feel we need positive only next few days.....we all know what this club can achieve when its all positive....even if were up against anything....when as it stands were very slightly behind those chasing promotion & very much it

A loss Monday night and no signings though would cause a meltdown

If I was a betting man I’d say Watson goes for close to £10m and Clarke comes in on loan and Riis permanently

not saying it’s what I want to happen, just what I think will.

If Watson goes we have to bring Clarke back on loan and sign someone for the right hand side.
