If only Israel qualified and were in that group - it'd read: Catholic, Catholic, Catholic...uh oh.

Instead it reads: Catholic, Catholic, Catholic and, er... Catholic.
The Pope will be busy with that group.

Germany v Holland is always a little feisty anyway, but this time it should be really interesting.
Both have good sides and slightly conflicting styles, from what I've seen of them.
I just hope that the Dutch go with firepower over brutality.

What would make today perfect is for Holte Legends to rear his ugly head.

Why? You know what he'd say, anyway.

I think that even he'd struggle to justify Villa's recent performances, if you can even use that word to describe them.
Perhaps attendances might be more accurate?
They definitely turned up. Not sure that they did much more than that, though.

I think you'll find I was talking about an individual's performance rather than the team's performance - those of us watching the game were fully aware of the 3 goals, the 3 goal scorers and clean sheet - but, thank you much for your contribution.

Remember how Gooners keep crowing about having more possession and a higher pass completion rate every time we beat them? That's why I brought it up. It's called satire.

AFC Totton vs Britstol Rovers then Sutton Utd vs Notts County on the screens. Who's getting the beers in?

Totton may be getting battered, but look at that pitch.
It's an excellent surface, especially for a club at their level.

It's great, isn't it? Much better than Wigan's.

Not sure Tyldsley should be calling the defender "molester" for a bit of shirt pulling in the box! :D

:emoticon-0159-music I love Martin Jol, Martin Jol loves me :emoticon-0159-music

8 points clear of Liverpool with a game in hand with 13 played?
That'll do nicely, thank you!

Bulgaria Prime Minister Boyko Borisov wants the country's player-of-the-year poll annulling after he won ahead of Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov.

The 52-year-old, who plays occasionally as a striker for third division side Vitosha Bistritsa, collected 44% of the votes in the fans' poll.

<laugh> It's only a matter of time until Blatter wins POTY too, I assume.

"Just 8,000 supporters took part in the poll, which saw Vasil Lukaev, from amateur team Shipka Dragor, come third." <laugh>

When you consider where Berbatov was when he left us, it must be galling to be playing for neither your club nor your country.

Perhaps if he didn't spontaneously decide to retire from international football as soon as he turned 30 (just like Paul Scholes, Park Ji-sung, Nemanja Vidic, Wes Brown, Mikael Silvestre...) he might have done better. Or the Premier League isn't as all-conquering as first assumed, as Bulgarians don't watch it.
