Bugger me, what a game.

Great to see the table finally starting to reflect the obvious improvement under Selles. I think because the teams immediately around us started winning too it's taken an unusually long time for us to climb the table, but we're getting there now.

Like Warnock said on Sky, that was a serious defensive performance. Some brilliant tackles and blocks. Jones and Macca particularly colossal yet again. People like those two deserve more credit more often.

Jacob too, what a warrior he is, and he's so smart with when he decides to attack. Today's goal was similar to the one against Birmingham on his debut in the way he attacked the box with purpose. What an absolute fool Tim Walter was for pushing him out of the picture.

The new signings immediately make us look a lot better equipped in attack. Being able to rotate Pedro and Puerta off the bench is a luxury we've not had for a long time.

It was interesting to see Matazo come on as one of the number 8s. I know he’s been cited as a defensive midfielder but even in his club interview, he sounds more like a box-to-box midfielder.

That wasn’t just City, he actually said he’s watched a lot of championship football and not seen that commitment.

I think Selles actually said he sees him as an 8. It was either him or Matazo himself. Definitely heard one of them say it directly this week.

My theory is that he has great raw attributes for the No6 and thats where Monaco saw him, however, lacks discipline and wants to get forward too much for for the position at that level. Maybe why they let him go and hopefully more than good enough for us as a box to box.

Yes, I know. Sorry if that didn’t come across in my post. He was also referring to teams across the division looking at stats when buying players and stats not winning games. Something some of our stat obsessed fans should take not of. Unless they can beat Warnock’s record of 8 promotions (no one can) they can **** off.
