'We have to get over this quickly' - Wilder Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder told BBC Radio Sheffield: "Just maybe a game too far for us a little bit. I wanted to get through this game, I felt we were still stretched a little bit, playing a left-back in the middle of the park. "Obviously putting boys into the team as well on a first start, so it was a little bit disjointed. "Poor goals from our point of view. The first one gives them a huge lift. Then you could see, all of a sudden they sit into a low block and it's up to us to break them down. "We couldn't find that rhythm and that bit of quality. And then the second goal was another poor goal to give away. And the third goal, we're chasing the game. "It's a disappointing night. There will be twists and turns right the way through. We've put ourselves in a really good position. We can't rest on our laurels and not get over this. "We have to get over this pretty quickly. The cavalry are coming, reinforcements are coming, boys are coming back from injury. We just have to accept we've been beaten. "We've won plenty of games this season. I'm not going to beat the boys up for it. Other people can, they can beat me up, but I'm not going to."
I was just about to post that. Not sure if it’s the full interview but can’t see him giving us much credit there.
Hull City boss Ruben Selles told BBC Radio Humberside: "I feel really good because of the result but also because of the performance. "It's difficult to come and play and get points from here and I think we did a lot of good things today. "I think the players fully believe in what we are doing and their application was excellent today. "The early goal made it easier because then they had to open spaces. To start the game in that way gives you confidence. "I hope we can build on this. Now it's important to take the weekend to rest a little bit and then go again. "I think the team has a way and a identity, we can win or lose matches but the way has to always be there. I'm proud of that."
I read on here that they had only conceded 5 goals at home in 13 matches before tonight. It’s just f****** amazing that we’ve put 3 past them and kept a clean sheet - I can’t stop smiling.
Apologies if someone's already posted, but see Jacob raise his arm and keep at the lino while running back when they 'scored' their goal that was ruled off side. He quite possibly helped tip the linesman toward raising his flag. Well played Jacob.
I don’t think he was influenced, it was a clear offside and a good bit of officiating. Officials were excellent tonight, think they got everything spot on and didn’t ruin the game.
They got a few right, but I thought they were every bit as awful as the average Championship ref. I’m still to see a ref with a 3 digit IQ.
Thought the ref was very good tonight. Let the game flow, played advantage for our first goal and didn’t blow up for players from both sides going down. One of the best refereeing performances we have had, Would be happy to see him in charge of any of our games in rest of season.
We took control after he went off, Jones was struggling to play out well on the left so it just gave us that natural balance. Perfectly timed, probably should’ve done the same midweek earlier too
Wow, that was a bit good. Well done all the lads and Selles looks like he is going to be a legend. Can I give a special mention to Drameh who had a cracking game. He has taken a pasting from some on here in the last couple of weeks. I think he’s a better right back than Coyle and today showed his class. Yes, he has made mistakes, but all players make them and he didn’t deserve that vitriol. Today showed he was a Tiger. UTT
Thought he was very good. Let the game flow and didn’t fall for players on either side making a meal of challenges.
My Staroprmen and Glenturret Triple Wood chaser has never tasted better than it has tonight - gonna watch my g'daughter be a mascot** at Glanford Park tomorrow and them winning for her would make my weekend. **She's on the waiting list to be mascot at the KC!
