I really rate Pandur and think he’s great now that we’ve seen him in action – but I’d still say keeping Allsop in goal was the right decision at the time. Would Pandur have been a better option in hindsight? Absolutely, but we’d pretty much signed a whole new attack and we didn’t need to disrupt both ends of the pitch at the same time during such a crucial run in (I also felt this way when we dropped Pandur for Rushworth in the last few games). Yes, Allsop conceded goals he shouldn’t have, but all players at this level make mistakes and he didn’t single-handily cost us a place in the play-offs either. The team, as a whole, had several opportunities and failed to take them – including all of the talent we signed in that window. There’s no one person solely at fault and to blame Allsop only is to oversimplify what happened. Additionally, if you look at the MOTM threads you’ll see that Pandur is pretty much the runaway player of the season so far, so there are clearly a lot of people that both liked Rosenior and also like Pandur now and that you maybe need to let go of your animosity towards city fans who liked Rosenior as it’s done and he’s gone and none of it matters anymore.
The fact we played Rushworth for 3 games and then he’s off back about sums us up at the moment. Pandur was our player of the season so far and we dropped him, crazy. Charlie Taylor is a huge upgrade on what we have at the minute.
Just watched it GLP... something not quite right maybe...?.. I know he was pissed off about the defeat (and perhaps the lame, very lame questions) but it doesn't seem right at all... maybe he's not on board with who has been Brought in...? Make your mind up anyone ..just on about 3:00
Jeez. Some people will look for negativity in anything. He was pissed of at losing and didn’t wasn’t in the frame of mind to do the usual Media friendly but meaningless summary of an incoming player.
Hmmmm very odd, but probably just totally ****ed off with the game we have just lost and especially the 2nd goal.
Not negativity at all TT other than the result. I did start by saying he was rightly pissed off with the result...but a simple answer to a bland question might have been 'yes we're pleased to get it done lets hope he answers some of our problems'. who knows where he's at with who has been signed...
Exactly. Wouldn't be the first manager, even this season, to be pissed off with who Acun has signed for him. Hardly outlandish stuff given what's gone before.
Given Joseph said in his interview when he signed his conversations with Sells was a big part of why he wanted to come, I doubt this is the case
It wasn't Joseph I was really referring to .. im sure he knew all about him form his time at Reading (opposition)
TBF most players say that when signing for a club, it's the typical line they're taught early on to say when doing first interviews for the club.
Selles knows the player from L1, and would have vetoed it if he didn't want him. **** me ! You don't half see what you want to see to fit your disaster junkie narrative don't you?
