Sorry if this comes through massive This is my first time using the software to create the graph please bare with me Created a link between the number of chances created per 90 and the expected assists from those resulting chances - Mundle and Roberts on the right side of the trend line, but can still create more - Callum O'Hare having a poor season compared to teammates - Josh Murphy creating good chances with minimal opportunities per game For context - enzo le fee in the 22/23 ligue 1 season would be just below John Swift with 1.99 Key passes per 90 and 0.14 expected assists, quite good considering he was not playing the 10 for a lot of the season If you have any other points or if you want to see a player who isn't on here let me know Any feedback appreciated
Cracking graph that, really love to see the anomalies that these things show is, for example we all know that people are raving about Ben Doak, Finn Aziz, Gus Hamer etc but look at Mendez-Laing, considered a league one player and a bit of a journeyman these days but is producing the goods of a much higher calibre player, you could probably buy him for 6 figures this window.
The penalties obscured something significant imo. I really believe there was a serious shift in attitude and application. If we'd won I think a fair few would see it as a turning point ... ... I honestly believe it was.
Any updates on these ? I'd be interested to see how we fair now compared to two months ago. Better I'd think.
It was only based on whoscored data but I mentioned he was showing up as one of the better midfielders in Ligue 1 a month or so ago. If we don’t make it up this season I’ll certainly be hoping he returns.
Very very different game out there though France / Italy is the making of him and he’ll be a top level footballer out there he won’t in England. IMO anyway
I just don’t get how anyone who witnessed his run from Feb-Oct 23 can be so convinced he can’t make it in England. That’s above the fact that ligue 1 remains a better league than the champ - and one from which players make the transition to England all the time. If his head is right - and RLB lights a fire under him - I have no doubt that he could be a good player for us.
He's playing in a different system there tho, so hard to tell how he would do in our system His lack of aggression worries me in CM, Neil and Jobe are good at that as they break up play so we'll these days - not sure Ekwah can do that I def wouldn't be against him coming back and playing a part tho as got the technical ability
Does he even cover enough ground to be a strong player in our system. Not sure he does / assert himself anywhere close to fit at the moment. That was always my annoyance with him.
Couldn't find any updated versions so did it myself. The attacking and defensive effectiveness are slightly different as in the original it was shots taken per goal scored but I only have the numbers for goals per shot. In the defensive effectiveness graph, Sunderland and Sheff Utd are exactly the same which is why they are not on the graph. To me, it looks like we've improved in every graph.
