It would still be treated as a crime, but it could be dealt with as a disorder which it is, the two aren't mutually exclusive. I'd rather offenders were treated for a disorder so that they don't commit those crimes again, rather than just punished and then let out to potentially commit those crimes again,

I think most people's natural reaction, including my own, is to lob these people in a burning pit of tar But, we don't live in a society like that, so in reality we have to find ways to deal with these problems in a way that reduces the likelihood of them reoffending.

I'm not saying it should be used as a 'get out'. It's a crime and people need to take responsibility for their actions. Any *****philia crime needs to be treated as such under the law. What I'm saying is that as part of that sentence, rehab should be implemented to try and stop them from committing those crimes again.
I don’t believe these people can be rehabilitated so I’d not want us spending/wasting a single penny on them. When evil like that is inside of people it’s there for life and they’ll always be ready to strike at any opportunity that presents itself.
I guess that's where we disagree. I see it more like an addiction which needs to be treated. It needs to be punished within the framework of the law, alongside rehab Otherwise you just lock these people up until they are ready to come out and reoffend again.
