I guess it depends on your height, right? I'm not tall so 36" on me is very much on the chunky size. My goal is to get back down to 32" which is what I was in until my mid-20s, but to do that I suspect I'm going to need to exercise more (rather than just eat less) to get rid of the harder to shift rolls.

Weight loss is probably 80/85% diet. If you eat well, keep it clean and stay away from sugars and processed crap then you'll lose weight just by being active. But you can train hard and almost every day but won't lose if you still eat crap

Will power is a huge part, I can go through stages where all i want to do no matter how tired I am, my travel schedule etc is go to the gym and eat very clean. But then something suddenly switches in me going the complete opposite and I really have to fight internally both to work out and to not eat rubbish. I've tried to figure it out over the years and see if I can find triggers etc but nothing seems to add up or cause it to change
Have you looked at when you’re having discussions with a certain poster?

Not to worry you, Peter, but if he's got open sores on his feet that aren't healing, the implication is that his circulation isn't working well - a factor in diabetes... He should go to a qualified person for a check.
He goes to an hospital to have them bandaged so they know about them. Whether they are dealing with it sufficiently is another matter.

Here are my tips.
Abstain from drinking alcohol and smoking.
Don't eat meat.
Exercise daily. Cycling or swimming are preferable.
Make love three times a week for a minimum of 45 minutes while listening to Ace of Spades by Motorhead on repeat.
Look to burn 3000 calories a day plus.
The lard will drop off :emoticon-0148-yes:

I’m married , will talk to the wife but I think increasing from 45 mins a year to 3 times a week is a big ask

I think if I made love three times a week for a minimum of 45 minutes,it wouldn't just be the lard that drops off!!

Stick it on replay for 45 mins and go for it.
Not you Rerver. Not with your strawberry tart problem.

That’s simply not true, I got myself into absolute peak condition whilst still eating **** and drinking loads of beer. That was 4-5 years ago now though and now I’m having to do it again because I’m about 25% overweight <laugh>

I purposefully didn’t make it a New Year’s resolution but I’ve finally decided to start today, 5k run up and down 2 hills absolutely killed me!

Fair enough, you're obviously an exception and hats of to you for being able to do it. But I'd say 95% of people won't out train a bad diet

From my teens to my 40s I did a lot of sport and ate what I wanted - I didnt go crazy though - I stayed a constant 13 st at 6 ft.
Then I went self employed and sat behind a desk at home. I didnt even walk to the tube. Anywhere else I go by car. My diet is quite good. My weight went up. I've made a small effort with reducing my diet and I'm losing weight but I'm not very active now.
