Well I had a good day at the game.
Said before I was taking my disabled grandson for his first game. Staff were really good with him, and very helpful.
Wasn’t sure whether he’d want to even go in the ground, let alone stay for long, but he loved the walk up and going in (although we nipped through the disabled access so didn’t have to queue.) and the whole concourse experience when we wandered around there. Free fruit for kids is good too btw.
He did watch his iPad a bit first half, but he uses that to regulate his emotions and it worked really well. Whenever excitement built when we attacked he put his iPad down and watched and clapped along with everyone else.
Used the quiet room at half time which was great, and he enjoyed playing foosball on the concourse.
We left around 75 mins because he’d had enough (not that I disagreed!) but all in all it was a nice day. He is able to tell people he went, same as his brother has, and he enjoyed it, and he’s got his programme which he was reading when we got back.
Game wise I thought we looked ok first half, although still let them have a few easy breaks.
If we scored first half I think we’d win comfortably, but we didn’t so that’s how it goes.
