For all his big reputation in that one season at Boro, the truth is the Luton manager didn’t pick him and none of the three City managers since he arrived have fancied him, usually (and embarrassingly) preferring a right footer. Increasingly looking like that Boro spell was a blip in an otherwise mediocre career.
