Buy a new keyboard, even my wife fitted hers (so if she can any ****er can)

OR use a USB keyboard if you have one, just to tide you over.

Should come off pretty easily. No doubt there'll be a few little screws along the top. Undo them, pull it up (it slots under at the bottom) and then unplug it <ok>.

Your wife might be pleased to hear that.

Of course for a little consideration my silence could be bought.

I was going to say check the BIOS but good luck accessing that without a keyboard <laugh>. Assuming you have a windows laptop here, try plugging in a USB keyboard if you have one then checking it that way.

Laptops are a pain in the arse. I much prefer a desktop PC. Every laptop I've owned has had some ****ty fault down the line. The screen ****ed on my first HP one, and the power supplies ****ed on my second HP and my Acer one.

May as well just buy one of these, it'd probably last longer.

Good laptop is an oxymoron, all about the real PCs. My Lenovo N200 was great though, until the screen died and a replacement would cost more than it was worth.
